this seems to be a very good ground but wanted to get some input..im gonna re-do my ground bc the wire and solder moves when i wiggle it so the solder is not attched to the termianl so i assume that is not a good thing, so gotta fix that

should i make a ground or use the rear strut tower for a ground? i was gonna use a self taping screw with a star lock washer and make a ground, its really thick metal, right beside the seat belt bolt. what do you guys think?

my box doesnt smell at all, i know what burnt coils smell like, i just meant it smells good as in no smell i really dont play boosted songs, i do play decaf but not alot, is -5 just for boosted songs are all rap songs, if need be ill turn the gain down a hair

what do you mean kranny? there just alittle warm, only time they been pretty warm is when its hot out, but theres 2 nights where i felt my subs before i played them and they were nice and cool since it wasnt a hot day and when i played them they where the same temp so didnt get warm

whats wrong with -10? i dont play alot of decaf full tilt thats the only reason i see it, unless -5 is for all around playing full tilt i dont have a dd-1 a guy that lives about 2hrs away set it up and im pretty sure he said track 5 witch is -10db the amp doesnt get hot or warm, i have 1/0g for power and ground as well as big 3. 4g running of back battery. wire doesnt get warm ither, so since i dont have access to a dd-1 should i just turn the gain down a hair or will that not do anything? i played em full tilt a few times before and they where cool, i know when its hot out and humid my amp and subs get warm, i dont even play them, i assume its just from the heat that there still warm so after i play them and check the dustcap there still the same temp thats why i think there warm? maybe its a dumb theroy

been trying to figure this out but ill let you guys decide whats going on, got 2 12 sa subs on a audioque 1200d and my current prefab box specs are below, i dont play my subs full tilt alot, idk why thats just me..i dont even play a full song full tilt, however when i do play my subs full tilt but once in awhile the dustcap gets warm, its been hot and humid out and dont play them till its dark so its cool off but maybe the subs are still warm since it was hot out? my gains where set with a dd-1 -10db track im giving them a soft clip so theres nothing wrong with that, here are my box specs below..not sure if the box plays a big factor into it. since its prefab the box is prob smaller Width 34 Depth 18 Height 16 Vent Width 3.75 Vent Height 14 Vent Length 26 Vent Dim 52.5 Hz (Tuning Frequency) 38 Gross Cu. i plan on getting a 04 chevy impala, im not into really fast cars but its a nice car and can be pimped out nicely..it has a big trunk so thats good, but just wanna do if anyone has experience with this car or knows of someone, is this car a system car? just wanna know if this car gets loud with a system in it..i seen a video with a guy doing 150db in it, at least im pretty sure it was or real damn close

that amp will be fine for that sub, please set your gain with a dd-1 those 8's get plently loud, its all in the box tho man.

contact dave the box guy or have someone on here build you one, dave the box guy does amazing work, he charges abit much but its worth it.. yes that box is bad, any prefab box is not good, myself is using a prefab box and im not getting anywhere near the output i should from my sundown sa's subs..

my box is at 36hz and i dont play below 30 full tilt, but i play stickem by b-legit witch has a quick drop to 27hz, when i play that everything is fine..but like kranny said, there is no need to play that song, personally i wouldnt go below 28hz full tilt its alittle below 20hz thats for sure, anything well below your tunning your not gonna get good output

i would not worry about trying to fix the box, i would sell it and buy one or make one..obv its your money man, prefab boxes are junk and you will not see good performance from your sundown subs, i have a prefab box myself, its better made then most but i didnt see much of a difference when i switched from my soundstream t5s to sundown sa's someone on here will hook you up

if he didnt count woofer displacment yet then its prob 45hz, witch is really high, most prefab boxes are tuned to 45hz or higher, there is no way to tune the box lower. your best bet is to sell it and have someone build one for you or if your good with wood working you can build yourself one..

what kind of speaker wire you running? i had install bay 12g speaker wire and when i would turn my volume full tilt it would cut out and go into protection mode on some notes, i replaced it with better wire and problum solved, you might have a short wire those subs to 1ohm and run 4g wire

hey ram, i wanna get a big 3 kit of you, i been dying to try out that audio technix wire anyway and could use a upgrade for the big 3..already have it done but rather have better wire and crimped alot better, please pm me if you can, i would like to know how much
