true man Id make sure you have a really good bond between the MDF rings and glass. if that seam is weak and you put the weight of the sub on it, I wouldn't be surprised if it cracked out.

oh man no notes...one of my old roommates did that to me. I took them all and ripped them up. Your not their mother. if you want them to be responsible enough to do something, you have to talk to them face to face like SQMonte said. Telling people what to do is just gonna get them defensive...and most likely they'll just get bitter about it. Compromise is usually easier.

15' 4/0 cable with lugs
mbdblue replied to mbdblue's topic in For Sale: Car audio related equipment only
I don't see a brand on it man, just a lot of coding and measurements, no idea what the strand count is, but these strands are much thicker than standard. -

15' 4/0 cable with lugs
mbdblue replied to mbdblue's topic in For Sale: Car audio related equipment only
is the crimper included or an extra $20? Im including it man. so it would be 80+shipping with the 15' wire, 10 lugs, and crimper -
So I ended up spending too much cash for the holidays and it blows. I have bills that are gonna shit on me soon as the first rolls around (really looking forward to it) but I don't want to make this into a sob story thread. Im selling some 4/0 cable I was gonna use for my big 3. Im not using it anytime soon and I don't need it. Asking for 80+ shipping for it and Ill throw in 10 4/0 close-ended lugs that have a 5/16" hole, and a hammer-style crimper that I just bought for 20 bucks.

mbdblue replied to HotRodHam's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
test it....if you can turn the car off and take the key out and that wire still gets voltage, its constantly telling the amp to stay on, draining the battery.... couldnt i just turnt he car off and look at the amp and see if the power lights on? lol I guess if you wanted to..... -

check all power/ground connections at the battery and alternator, check remote wire, then if nothing is found, you might want to get the alternator load tested to make sure its properly charging the battery. -
Rattling
mbdblue replied to BassMunky's topic in General Audio - Can't find a category for your question? Ask here.
you could try re-greasing it...but not much you can do about it...unless yours is too old and has alot of play in it, enough to make noise. then you should just replace it. -
check all connections, one may be loose...

I moved out of my parents house about 2 years ago. moved into an apartment that had no garage, no space, hell we technically weren't allowed to do an oil change in the parking lot (it happened anyway, but thats beside the point ). But now, I finally found a space to work out of!!! after 2 years of no building, I can get back to work!! Fuckin excited as shit right now The owners a cool dude too. Doesn't really care what we do, just asks that it doesn't become a hang out spot for 8+ friends getting drunk and shit, which I can understand. Get ready for some mmmaaaddd shit coming out of place soon!

Something wrong with my Mechman?
mbdblue replied to fecupe2001's topic in MechMan Alternators and 12v Accessories
changing a fuse isn't gonna do anything for you. A fuse can't "choke out" the system, its one an only purpose is to bust when too much current is trying to be drawn through the connection (in your case 200 amps). the only thing you can make of this is that the alternator isn't drawing more then 200 amps of current through that wire. But saying its 700 dollars for a mechman alternator isn't fair. you are in another country and you know the cost to ship. Shit, some companies refuse to ship outside the US. If it was that much of a hassle to ship it back, technically wouldn't it have been a good idea to test it when you first got it? To be completely honest, Im not sure I would have done it either; but you have to think of the position it puts them in too. I've had some difficulties with Mechman in the past, but they were handled respectfully and quickly. -

hey man, you know Im right up in Nashua if you need any help but say you need around 1-1.5 gallons resin, some mat, wood, glue, screws, brushes, tape, wax....Id say around 150-200 max. but you know planning is everything. the more you plan ahead, the easier/faster/better it will turn out.
