nah man not a member on there. this is the second time I sent one of these amps to ZED and have them tell me its fine haha. First time I let one of my friends install the inline fuse and he didn't crank down on the terminals so the amp kept shutting off. Thanks a lot for the offer Ray but I got it figured out now! Its been raining the past couple days here and I wasn't able to test out the amp, so I took the time to clean out all the plugs and just look at the amps internals and how those plugs fit on. Some of them had what looked like grease or something and I wasn't taking any chances so I cleaned them up. Finally got outside after work today and tested the power lines from inside the amp and they were fine, so I plugged in the remote and it fired up. Working just fine now; don't really know exactly what it was but its working again. thanks everyone for your input!

I know you said you think your going 2 way but Id take a look at these first. they are on my list that I think I want to go with. DB Drive 3 way setup

seems like if you ended up using peal and seal, and decided to go with a higher quality later, you'd be creating more work for yourself.

the green LED is not lit. the red LED flashes once and turns off. There isn't a problem in the RCAs or head since all these are working just fine with the other amp. I have to probe the power connections from the board side to make sure the connection is being made.

just an update....Steve from Zed was emailing me back last night (on a sunday night, I was impressed) and sent me a rundown of all the testing he does. He also mentioned he goes directly to the board when testing, which leads me to believe one of the power/ground/remote plugs might not be making a good connection. didn't have time to test it today, but maybe tomorrow

yeah man thats exactly what I was hoping for. I didn't mind shelling out a little extra, but I expected it to be working.

yeah man I might do that. thanks for the ideas...I just sent an email to Steve to find out exactly what tests were done to it, cuz it does still get on my nerves that I spent money to get it tested and it has the same problem. if anything I might just re-sell it on ebay as broken/for parts.

yeah man, I get what your saying. Not sure how he tested it, (with the bottom open hooked directly to the board or not) but when Im looking at the board, all the connections look fine; try to wiggle them and there all solid as hell.

I ordered another 404.2 on ebay. got it and hooked it up (was easy cuz I already had my other one in) it was DOA, the red LED lights then turns off. its supposed to light red than change to green; regardless, it had no output. Said fine, Ill send it to Steve at Zed (he looked at my other one). Sent it in, he runs tests and lets me know he can't find anything wrong with it. I say sure, maybe I fucked up, I trust his judgement. Got it back earlier this week and hooked it up today. Still the same thing, no output. Im literally taking the exact same plugs out of my amp thats been working for months now and plugging them in to this one and get nothing. I thought maybe its the plugs so I swapped some of them out. they work in the amp that I already had, but still nothing from this one. Now Im kinda pissed. I trust Steve from Zed but, its simply 3 plugs and RCAs. I guess this is more of a rant, but its just lame.

selling off my fuse blocks. money keeps getting in my way and these are just sitting around. I want to sell them all at once, just because its easier/cost effective. used with ring terminals, and ANL fuses. they were never mounted, or used; just bought for a build I can't finish anytime soon. looking for 40 shipped, but for the weekend Ill do 35 shipped.

I have 30 feet of monster cable silver P400 series 1/0 cable Im gonna get rid of. the other 30 feet I had was "accidently" thrown out without me knowing cable was never used, just sat around in a box. looking for 85 shipped, paypal only. compared to 1/0 welding cable

Im convinced that telling people its something you love to do is damn near worthless cuz they won't believe you. You have to show them you love to do it. Then naturally, they'll realize you meant what you said.
