  1. to call a vocal track "dry" means that it is exactly as the person sang it. with the invention of pro-tools, nothing is done in one shot any more. they can take the recording, and change the pitch, and even change it emulate someone elses voice. you could take a lil john track and make it sound like madonna was singing it.
  2. you dont really think he would ever have a "dry" track on an album do you?
  3. i doubt usher does his own recordings. the problem lies with the people who produce the album.
  4. its probably a "squashed" recording. its nothing new. check out any lil john song, it'll be the same way.
  5. the reason you dont see alot of setups with the port forward is because of the way a ported enclosure works. the (for lack of a better term) port wave tends to be 90 degrees out of phase from the (for lack of a better term) sub wave. placing the port in a manner where it is "delayed" helps the "sub wave" and "port wave" be more in phase in the listening environment, therefore giving much more efficiency. "advancing" the port wave ahead of the "sub wave", by aiming the port forward, only makes the phasing problem worse.
  6. the foam itself is paintable, but you wont get any sort of a finished look. as for the interior panels, just use seran wrap or wax paper on the area of the panel you dont want foam to stick to, then after the foam has set, go back and trim the excess paper or wrap out of the way.
  7. this is dependent on your setup. running mono, i always run a common chamber enclosure, i seem to always be able to get much more efficiency this way. when running in a stereo configuration, always run separate chambers. with stereo configuration, some music doesnt play the same from left channel to right channel. with common chamber in a stereo configuration, the left channel playing while the right channel isnt would cause the right channel subwoofer to act like a passive radiator, and the left channel subwoofer would unload. passive radiator in itself isnt bad if thats the type enclosure your going for, but a floppy sub in a ported box is never good.
  8. never. i always say "come on over. we are gonna grill some burgers and drink some beer".
  9. ami the only one who gets tired of people thinking that everything cooked on a grill is bbq?
  10. so im sitting here, listening to some classical music. im sipping on a fine ice cold whiskey, enjoying a cigar, and honing my late 20's / early 30's boker straight razor. at this point i realize, life is good. anyone else enjoy these activities?
  11. your a bit out of line here. race has nothing to do with this. good idea. i get sick of hearing about that socialist bastard.
  12. and that has exactly what to do with what? if you knew anything about firearms history, you would understand the weapon in my avatar pic.
  13. no it doesnt take a genius to figure it out, thats why teenagers these days can do it. awesome, thanks for sharing. good to know. cool, 13 internets for you then.
  14. BINGO! winner! i get so sick of the way women act. cant live with 'em, cant live without some parts of 'em.
  15. by the name "duece poppi", i feel fairly safe assuming that its a rap song. no thanks, id rather beat my skull in with a tire iron than listen to that ridiculous babble. rap music and the associated lifestyle is a virus that is completely destroying the youth of america today.
  16. i use simmons scopes on my .22 squirrel guns (2 of 'em). midwayusa has some awesome deals on simmons scopes. i put one of my .22 scopes on my shotgun to see how it took high recoil. i sighted it with 2 3/4 rifled slugs, then shot 2 boxes of 3.5" buckshot, and a box of 3.5" turkey load. went back to rifled slugs and took the orange bullseye out of a target on the first shot at 100 yards. they hold up perfectly to way more recoil than your .22 could ever dream of throwing at it. held zero perfectly. i use this one - http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=267844
  17. mark, cut half way through, flip, mark, cut again. but yeah, cut, glue, and screw it together right, and box will be strong.
