  1. Not a 'tune' per se, but have you guys tried the 'stampede' track from the Lion King soundtrack? It's very musical, then the stampede cuts in and shakes yer nuts. It's an amazing demo "song". *disclaimer I'm not gay. An old gf of mine was really into Disny and wanted to hear this crap (the soundtrack) on the way home from the mall and I still vividly remember) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m-42ek85G4
  2. Nice ride, bro- take care of her! How long until we see a wall build log???
  3. Where'dja get the 150db siren??? I have multiple sirens (some in, some out, 1 over the steering column, some battery backup) but none are that loud!
  4. Nice box! And on that note, I F'ing LOVE your avatar!
  5. Amen, brother. Nice hair trick!! (Love those XLs!)
  6. I use my BB to feed my headunit media, and it SUCKS for SQ. CDs sound absolutely stunning and crystal clear, while the best media I've played through my BB sound OK. Most sound terrible. I don't want to go the Apple route- what's left??? Thanks guys. Just LOVE this place.
  7. Even though I will always buy Foreign for my own cars, my wife has a Dodge caravan that is shockingly expensive for parts & labor- at least as much as my Nissan. Giventhat it brekas down far more often, it's more expensive to me.
  8. You sound like a really hardworking guy; glad to hear you found something you'll enjoy doing. Can't wait until you start posting pics/vids of your own installs!
  9. Both the 2 way and 3ways look good- I's stay away from the R's, but that's me. Tough to compare a 2 and 3way- depends how much high you need up front. All nice drivers.
  10. I know you said you were looking at some Boston replacements, but my experience seems to echo yours, if only for the lack of midbass (I don't have any screechiness). I'd consider mids like the AQ 6.5" set, esp. if you had a chance to listen to them and liked them- they seem like a great value. there are SO many brands out there and ultimately, it's all up to you and what sounds good to YOU, in your install.
  11. I forgot to arm my car on Thursday night (Hey- small kids, arms full of stuff, I pay more attention to them not slamming their hands in the doors...). Came out Friday to find my CDs from my armrest console neatly piled on my passenger seat, and contents of my glovebox there as well. Only items stolen were about $3 in change and a pack of gum. WHEW! Lesson learned.
  12. Rats with wings. Don't feel bad for laughing; we're embarrased that they're called Canadian geese.
  13. Geez, 3ft^3 still seems so big when they reccomend 1.25... I have a P3 12" (dual 2 ohm coils, whatever that makes the model#...) in 1ft^3 sealed with an RMS matching amp and it HAMMERS. I always go with the reccomended size, but that's me. I'm still learning every day from these guys.
  14. I think ill go with the RF amp. you think ill have at least a twice or 3x loudness increase in my speakers? Right now i have stock speakers powered by my pioneer HU at 15wx4 It takes 10x the power to be twice as loud. Go with the RF.
  15. Both very cool- thanks for sharing. Don't want to be a wet blanket on the slip and slide, but the huge gash on my knee makes me say something kinda lame here... BE CAREFUL with thos things! You never know what's underneath the liner- could be something sharp. In 7th grade I used a slip and slide in my own back yard. 1st run, went on my knees (thank God), felt a tug on my knee, looked at it as I got up and my knee was completely open, showing the femur and shin bone, with tendons in between.. and a LOT of blood. 40 inner and 40 outer stiches later, I still have no nerves in my knee because some jackass threw a broken beer bottle into my yard. You'd have even less "control" over something like this where they didn't intend anyone to slide down... I thank God that I didn't go on my chest! Anyhow, have fun but be safe, Audio
  16. Gee, I don't know. I only bough the damn thing 3 weeks ago and it hasn;t even shipped yet
  17. Sorry about the window, glad your amps are OK. 2-way alram FTW! I live by my Compustar, and trust it and it's additoanl goodies to keep my baby safe.
  18. Whether it s a good reason or not, they don't have to tell you. No offense, but we've only heard your side of it as well, and the story could be "colored". The fact that you bring up often being late and not the best worker doesn't help your case- is there anything you aren't saying? I doubt it's personal, or really targeted- most likely they're trying to trim expenses etc and you're the one. Don't finger point at Dillon or any other temps. Man up, make a job out of looking for a job and find yourself something even better. Use your anger to fuel you and find something you enjoy that pays better just to spite them! I feel bad reading this because I just had to do the same thing to 2 of my own team, but not taking accountability is never going to help you. I'm not saying anything is your fault, but it's done so move on and move up! Good luck!
  19. Beautiful car, sounds tight (as far as the camera's mic lets on, anyway) But if some bitch put a big juice bottle on my roof and didn't grab it before it left the glass of the sunroof, he'd be pickin his teeth off the ground with a broken arm. WTF for the paint!?
  20. You're wise to ask before you spend. there are a LOT of great manufacturers out there who are not mainstream but make GREAT stuff. DC, T3 or AQ subs, AQ amps etc. I was surprised (and pissed that I bought just before I found out about them) how afforadable they are, and are really designed by enthussiats, for enthusiasts. Not just big box copanies pushing crap because it's easily found at lots of local stores. I was ready to fork out $800 for a 500w (4ohm rms)mono amp when an AQ1200d is $249!? (on order) I bought an RF P3 12" from Crutchfield for $180 when a DC level 4 (easily twice the sub by anyone's opinion) is only a few bucks more. Good luck!
  21. 100w RMS each *6= 600w RMS. Find an amp that produces 600w at whatever impedance your voicecoils will allow for (that your chosen amp can handle) and you're set. Because most mids are 4ohms each, it could be tricky.
  22. +1 I wouldn't heat up the needle; sticky plastic will just melt itself to the inner barrel of the amp's RCA forever. How tight is it in there? Would a good strong shop vac be able to suck it out?
