I think get the alt. The batteries help it play for longer periods of time. You already have the 3100 so it's probably a strain on that alt if you put more batteries. Just my .02.

It was a great deal for that and speakers. It doesn't make sense that they just stopped working. Did you tape the wires together? Also make sure the plug is in all the way just in case.

I had put on my Facebook about me putting in my sub/amp. Then this guy puts mobile dynamic extreme 15 on 5500 watts will drown that out. So I said cool? Craig butler 4 18's 8 25k watt amps will drown that out. Come to find out its a power acoustik amp so that's probably peak power rating. I can't wait til I get my sub broke in just to see if he is right. /endcoolstory
