I just bought the 16GB 3GS two days ago. I had a bb storm with Verizon and it sucked! There are 5 folks that sit by me at my job and they all had iphones. I was in denial at first but now I see the light. Yes, I had to pay the cancellation fee. However, I gain so much more than what I was losing. I got the 450 nation plan w/rollover. Of course, you have to pay for the data plan. However, you have to do that on Verizon smartphones too. I say get the iphone.

I got the 40 watt Weller from HD. The solder is 60/40 rosin core solder with 0.32 dia.

So should I got a 40 watt solder iron from Radio Shack or a 75 watt soldering gun from Home Depot?

i tried to use a mni butane torch but it melted the solder but it even touched the wire. Do I just need to hold the flame further away?

I went to Lowes and got one for $13.98. It's a Weller. What model do you have? This is the 25 watt model.

I think the problem is when I called myself tinning. The solder just beads up on the tip. It doesn't get shiny.

I take it that wires from a HU are about 16-18ga thick. How long do you leave a 30 watt soldering iron on them. I let the iron heat for 20 minutes. I held the iron under the wire for about 2 mins and the wire still didn't melt. Yes, I tinned the wire properly. Does my soldering iron need to heat for another 20 mins. Here is a pic of the iron I just bought al wal-mart.
