I just wanted to post up saying how happy I am with the Mechman 250a unit I've been using for a little over a week now. It comes with a dyno test let you know it's real output, oversized ground and output posts, and ring terminals to attatch 1/0 wire. Comparing output post size to normal alt. Soldered and drilled to fit the larger post. using High sexage wire lol. No idea where that came from.. Car's dirty, but its fall and I park under a tree lol. The Alternator regulates itself to 14.8v, but I have it with my factory alternator on a Missinglinkaudio bracket and MLA audio module. I ran it by itself before and it worked great. I've used 200a alternators that had trouble maintaning the vehicle without reving- this one has no problem. Great company, great product. Thanks.

Maybe this is a little hopeful, and I'm sure early on in the test process, but how do you think they'd do with 10kw a piece? I only want to run 1-2 subs, but I'm seriously getting everything in my truck ready to run these beasts! If they'll take it daily I'll give it to them, I just want to make sure I'll be taking advantage of all they'll do.

i wish I could make it. I wont have time Wish I could have bought those batts too- I'd just be getting the cash this weekend

I ran 4 in my last setup and I'm about to sell the 2 I still have to go with more powa, but they're good amps. If your voltage goes much below 12v you will fry them though. A 16v setup really needs to be charging 18-19 volts to keep your batts charged, and while the amps will do great for comps on that voltage, you put them at risk for a daily driver. A MLA module will be your best bet to keep your voltage a little higher without endangering your amp or vehicle.

Ea Alternator 300 Amp
tejcurrent replied to Andrew2944r's topic in For Sale: Car audio related equipment only
Looks like it should fit 5.3 and 5.7L 99-04 gm V8s too. Dyno Sheet? -
Any info? I just don't want to get serious about an amp that does 3k at 14v per channel when the memphis amps will do this no problem. Thanks a lot!

At what ohm was that? Thanks.

lol, no it's not time to downgrade THAT much. There were so many reasons going into this besides kids, including the fact that I had to drive 2 hours to have any competition, and the only people that lived near me that heard my system were only interested in things like "What kind of alarm do you have? Where do you live? Is it bolted down?" instead of anything constructive they just wanted to steal it. I already posted another thread, GEICO is cancelling my car insurance because of it. I figure I can be loud again after I finish college and get a better paying job. The stuff I used to do that payed good is suffering with the real estate market like it is and several other things, and my current job is a 'pay the bills' sort of thing. And as depressing as it was to piece things out, I have to have priorities (I love my money) It was a quad bracket made by Iraggi with Iraggi 380 amp alts on my 01 tahoe. It was supposedly identical to Steve Meades, but it really doesn't matter now. I still have one alt for sale btw. Like I said, I will have daul alts and as of now I have 4 yellowtops and 1 redtop I was using for all 4 memphis 4kws, so the way I figure it 3 'better' batteries + 2 midsize ones tucked away should still give me about the same if not more performance and I'll still have space to add more down the road if I need to. I'm not totally against maybe 5 3100s and 2 midsize ones (just not sure what size will fit), but I'd prefer to do less if I can get away with it. Honestly 8-10krms may be low power compared to some other systems on here, but it's really still a good amount of power imo lol.

I was told i could get around 7k at 4ohms mono out of the Hifonics amp. Reasons for changing from the 4 18s: Wife being pregnant- need money Having a baby- need space to carry things Replacing roof, need money Going back to college, need money Couldn't get the Quad alt bracket to be dependable daily, so I'm just running dual alts and I'll be much better off with less wattage. I'm still not clear on what would be my best bet, any more advice? Thanks.

I am considering running 2 memphis 4ks, or the maxximus. I have owned a few 4kws, so I am familiar with those, but I don't know much about the Hifonics amp and would really appreciate it if anyone could offer some hands on experience. Price is within a few hundred of each other so not really an issue. My charging system will probably be 2 250a alts and a few D3100s, with 4-6 runs of 1/0 + and -. I'm not sure if I could get by with 3 3100s or not, but that's what I'm thinking at the moment. Again, I know the 4kws would be fine with this but I don't know about the maxximus. Any thoughts at all would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Wtb: Amplifiers, Regardless Of Size For Under 200$
tejcurrent replied to Sniper's topic in Want To Buy
I have an american Pro 2000- it's a class A/B 2channel that does about 500rmsx2 at 1 ohm, 1k bridged at 2ohms. It worked perfectly until I went to sell it at a pawn shop. I disconnected it from my car, hooked it to their power supply and suddenly there was no output. Biggest 1krms amp I've ever seen. I don't know what's wrong because nothing is obviously burned up on the board, but it does turn on. I'd like to get 50+ shipping, if you're interested- [email protected] or 843-455-9121. -

Hey bro I replied on ROE, I really don't go there often though. I'm interested, just wondering if you're willing to trade for memphis 4kws. I've sold about 4 pretty expensive things here in the last month so I should be able to dig up refs if you need them. Please just email me at [email protected] when you get a chance. Thanks. -
I've been on my moms policy for years because I'm still young and it's been cheaper than being on my own. Well a few months ago I contacted Geico and it was cheaper for me to insure my vehicle with really good comprehensive insurance + $10,000 worth of stereo theft than stick with my moms policy so I did. Today I got home from work to find a letter in the mail telling me come December they wont be insuring me because of "excessive modifications" to my vehicle. I immediately called them up and asked what was the problem? I have a K&N intake and mufflers. They told me I was too big a liability because of my expensive equipment. When I told them I didn't have the equipment anymore because I sold it can't I just have comprehensive without the stereo coverage they said NO! They said I could easily put the equipment back in and not tell them. Why in the hell would you push an option on a policy onto someone, then cancel them for getting it? I haven't been pulled over or had an accident in 3+ years, they're just trying to screw me over. Something to think about if you are considering getting a large system. It's unethical if not illegal.

I'm from whitemarsh lol. I would run them above 17v for short term only. Also be sure to stay above 13v, 12.5 at worst.

Do these come with the manuals and stuff? I'm wanting to go 2way/3way active and this would be right up my alley.
