  1. because there different drivers they may have different power handling and may need to be tuned at different frequencies
  2. well if thats the case id just go with 4 ohm, most people i know who run 8 ohm drivers do so because they want to run multiple speakers on one channel which brings the load down to 4 anyway..
  3. as far as im aware, the higher the ohm the better the sound quality you will get.. the problem being obviously is getting the power you need at 8 ohms from an amp.. if each speaker will have its own channel id personally run 4 ohm speakers just for ease of making power, unless your really into SQ haha
  4. sennheiser hd-25's.. although theyre an on ear headphone they are the best sounding headphones ive ever had and block out a heap of noise!
  5. well personally id just wait then until you can afford a decent amp instead of spending money on crap and having to save more for a decent one, keep in mind to run real power to a SMD youll need to make sure your electricals up to scratch
  6. yeah typical in aus huh.. you should try claim the sub as a DD Z on his insurance haha
  7. subs are replaceable, lives arent! so long as your ok man thats all that matters.. but yeah some people must of got their licence at the bottom of a cereal box
  8. I was keen to get one in aus but after emailing apparently the shipping on the site is correct which is like $150 any way around this??
  9. Recone dude unless you can do a temp fix with some CA glue but it depends how bad it is.. Check out the DC section and even if you cant get onto rusty theres a few reps that will be able to help
  10. I actually like the heat, but they didnt deserve to win at all. No one stood up at all the whole series and as soon as things got tought they went in their shell.
  11. Bit hard to explain, but what i did with my DD's as theyre direct leads, was take 2 straight cable crimp joiners, take the insulation off them, solder them side by side together. then crimp the cables. you will only need to use 3/4 ends as youl only use 3 wires, then i just heatshrunk over them.. Bit of an odd way i guess but it worked well for me! Sorry i dont have pics either haha
  12. cheers for the replies guys, yeah i think il shoot for between 36-38 hz. pulled a 141db @ 33hz without the amp giving the subs full power, and the box not properly sealed in a 4 door sedans boot so i was pretty happy with that, hopefully with some higher tuning and proper tuning on the amp i can get around mid 140's.
  13. hi all, in the process of making a new sub box, essentially exact same as my current one but with a double baffle and proper 45 degree pieces in the corners. the box is for 2 dd3510's and external dimensions are 300H x 850W x 550L, port is 48 sq inch and 580mm long and peaked at 33hz. now my question is i hear people saying DD's should be tuned higher to reach their potential as they dont like being tuned to low blah blah, anyway is this correct? should i tune the box slightly higher and if so how long should my port be? p.s sorry for the metric measurements, im an aussie haha, any help would be appreciated!
