  1. give this a read http://autos.msn.com/research/userreviews/reviewlist.aspx?modelid=846 help answer some of your questions while you wait for answers here. i will warn you though.. if you go looking for issues with ANYTHING in the world, you will find them.. its really vehicle dependent, so you'd really have to give this truck a once over before making a move.
  2. idk, i'd want to do a full refresh on a used vehicle, thats just me. you'd have to see for yourself if its shifting smoothly. but i'd redo everything just in case.
  3. well if you cant fix the A/C by yourself, hundreds of dollars right there in labor. possibly could need oil changed tranny flushed and oil changed oil filters/air filter. really you'd have to inspect it with a fine tooth comb before purchasing and really seeing what the owner is hiding.
  4. at full tilt whats your voltage drop to?
  5. Brz 2400 all day. Hfi series is crap
  6. was just letting him know my situation so hes not all freaking out. but if the dd1 says no clip at 70%, then thats the word of god. if it sounds nice to you, d/w.. but theres nothing wrong with anything in your setup. 70% is just your area with the -10 tone, max unclipped volume on the hu, max unclipped pre out voltage.
  7. 2v preouts would warrant a higher setting on your amp.. i have 4v preouts and my SW level is 5/15 my gain knob sits at around 60%? actually let me run outside and check where the arrow is pointing.. its pointing at the L in bass controL. but my knob goes past the "max" arrow, all the way up it points all the way down.
  8. what deck, whats your pre out voltage, whats your SW level on your deck? 0/10? 5/10? etc
  9. try XS power or Kinetik batteries. stinger batts too. all well known brands ran on this site
  10. like a perfect match. wire down to 1 ohm and you'd be set. whats your electrical look like? probably need an upgraded batt or alt. big 3 done?
  11. i would bump that amp budget up a little. here are some nice amps that do rated: AQ you can of course get budget amps, like mb quart/hifonics. (still do rated.. but at 14.4 volts instead of a much more realistic 13.5, or 12.8 volts) just keep in mind your electrical system. stock electrical in a vehicle is generally good up to about 1k rms. (remember.. GENERALLY)
  12. whats your amp budget? you will more than likely end up building the box yourself. a few of the members here provide great box designs for a little $. as for subs, its really hard to say. but two sundown audio SA-12s is a really nice option. skar audio Ascendant audio try looking here at the subs and see what you like.. all of those subs are very nice and will get you loud in the right box.
  13. firstly, need an exact/estimated budget. secondly, everyone WILL TELL YOU to start small so you can learn from your mistakes.
  14. yay, now theres no way i cant stick with skar now. previously i was thinking for upgrades.. wheres the 2k from skar.. i cant jump to the 4.5k. glad theres mid ground between the 1500 and 4500 now. now with the 1500W sub line, ill stick with skar for a looooong time :] thanks kevin for awesome products, and thanks malib00m for advertising so well what skar audio can do, even on low power (your first build, 3-400w per driver). favorite quote from giving a few demos.. "whos skar.. man idk, but it sounds so good, and low"
  15. box position? (subs up, port up, subs up port back, subs back port back, subs forward port forward) etc
  16. im not familiar with a 350z. you could try 1/2" mdf instead of 3/4" though. just trying to give you ways not to destroy your car lol
  17. large sheet of mdf under the box, screw box to sheet of mdf. this is called a "false floor" you could also not have enough port. i dont know anything about arc audio. wheres your subsonic set at?
  18. tune it with a dd1 and you wont worry. they can take 1500w clean power
  19. EASILY papaslim. got my VVX 12s on a sk 1500. no coil smell, doesnt get hot, perfect damn amp for them hands down. just make sure your box isnt too big, dont play below tuning, dont clip. the VVX line craves for more power tbh.
  20. he's quite new and everyone is suggesting him to get 4000 watts which is no easy feat. one small strand of wire in the wrong spot and POOF there goes thousands of dollars. i can easily see him fucking up an install like that, if you want me to be honest he said he wanted a wall and to be loud though
  21. not really random.. he wanted a price range. then he gave us a budget. hes quite new at this, so narrowing his search down is a nice thing to do.. naming amps, giving price ranges of good equipment helps greatly i can assure you.
