  1. Is that the factories estimated mileage? I kind of doubt a V8 Suburban gets 18 mpg, yeah...downhill with the wind behind it maybe.
  2. I was depressed last night so I called "Lifeline." Got a call center in Pakistan . I told them I was suicidal. They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.
  3. If for some reason you do accept a check, here's how that works: You will deposit the check, wait a couple of days and check your account...hey! the money is there, great!. Then, about 2 weeks later the check gets returned by the issuing bank with insufficient funds, or whatever other reason. Point is: it may "clear" your bank, but not the bank that it came from. (which takes longer to clear) I just didn't want you (or anyone else) thinking that all is good when it clears your bank, it may not be. Bigger point: if they are picking up the item, there is no reason they can't pay cash. Since they are picking it up, I wouldn't even accept anything else. (not even a cashiers check) Why??????
  4. He tried to copy/paste from the manual at Pioneer. Try here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/i...DEH-P4600MP.pdf Edit: Ha! Never mind
  5. And that's your "worst day ever"??? I'll trade a thousand of those for my worst day.
  6. Actually that reminds me of something that Steve should know, now that he added the DVD drive in the console. The RR software is setup as follows: If RR is running, when you load a DVD movie or music CD, it will automatically start playing the movie or music. When you take the DVD/CD out, RR will return to where you left of. Also, RR is setup so that you can't watch movies while in motion. But...we can fix that
  7. Well, like some said, it's not yet done. Just ideas...but one idea would be to put a slot load DVD drive above the monitor, maybe some USB ports, and maybe a card reader????
  8. Gonna see him in February. Funny dude. Part 1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZjMgbRUsZM...feature=related Part 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpRW8jh8AgY...feature=related
  9. Yes!...That's what I'm talking about!!! Funny how one switches from old rock to other music. I certainly NEVER thought that I'd enjoy classical and opera. I remember my Dad listening to Classical...thought he was stupid. Crap, I was on Freemont street a while back...didn't see him
  10. Shoot, you can prob get online with Win3.1 LOL, if anyone still has it. One reason this needs XP is because RR needs NET Framework 2.0, (and I forget, possibly version 3.0) Those (I believe) won't install on Win98, or even WinXP service pack 1. There's ways to "shrink" this XP like using "TinyXP" but to me not worth the hassle. It creates more problems than it's worth. Heck, WinXP has enough crap problems as it is.
  11. Not sure what you mean with the airbags...you mean the truck jumping around??? I think the PC will hold up fine with that. As far 30k watts...I have no idea...this will be a good test. I mentioned it to Steve, he said laptops have worked fine. The HDD's I use are laptop hard drives. So I'm thinking (and hoping) it'll be ok. That case Steve has also has a dampening kit available...Steve thought he'd try it without the kit first.
  12. It has an MII12000 Via board with a 1.2Ghz processor. It has a 120Gig HDD. It does not have a TV Tuner card installed, but has 2 available PCI slots. (see my site for prices) The MB has a PCMCIA slot, so you can use a card from Verizon, Sprint, etc. Or you can use your cell phone, particularly a Boost phone is cheap. You could also use USB WiFi dongle. SO, several different ways of getting online. The weather is tied in with weather.com, that's where it gets the data/info. I guess that was a j/k, but still I have to say (for people that wonder) that there is no need to overload the PC with an operating system that hogs all resources. I'd even prefer installing Win98 if possible but not all other software would be compatible. (So, XP is a must) Steve, u get the navigation setup?
  13. Oh, I kind of need to post this: RoadRunner and the DFX skin is free to the end-user, you guys can install it for free no problem. However, it's not free for me, I have to pay for it as I'm using it commercially. I didn't charge Steve for it because...well, I'm a nice guy . I also did not charge him the $50.00 assembly, setup and testing fee, because...I'm a nice guy . As a matter of fact, I won't charge that setup fee for anyone on this board (for an undetermined amount of time). I do however have to charge for RR and the DFX skin as it comes out of my pocket. But again, you can install it for free. -- Richard
  14. Ohhh, I didn't mean to offend you...sorry. And yes, true...many younger people like this. This Sarah Brightman is cool too.
  15. Sorry, gotta post THIS one too. She can sing man!
  16. Personally I love opera. I'm 44. When I was younger it was Zeplin', Hendricks, Stones etc. Now I like jazz, classical, and opera. Anyhow, for those interested (prob' not many) here's a clip about a cell phone salesman singing opera...pretty cool. Click here for cell phone guy. Of course I have to say Pavarotti was a little better: Click here for Pavarotti. If only you youngsters would take the time to REALLY listen, you might just like what you hear.
  17. Ok, not my truck, just wanted to show it. We put a carputer in it. Here's their web site , pretty cool. Some more pics here.
