  1. Fixed LMAO at your edit but to respond to 99fullsize I am running Kicker in the truck for a reason believe me I would love to run Sundown DC DD Skar etc but this started as a Kicker build and I must finish as such reason being is because Kicker is the most popular brand at the shop and in the area. Most of the guys that have it sound like ish so I want to do this to show them how it should sound and maybe gain some new clientele in the process. I have to give them what they want to show them what they could have dudes round here ain't trying to hear about anything but Kicker so thats that. Now on a personal note there is something big in the works for the Civic with one of those brands I mentioned before but for now I need to concentrate on the Kicker system in the truck. Anyone else with ideas?
  2. $500 is a tight budget but I would go with what Freshman said spend a little more and get a lot more in the long run. The DC's will do work in the right box and they sound great Kicker is way out of your price range and if I am not mistaken the L5's are discontinued so you can't buy new unless you get lucky. L3's suck in my opinion and the L7's are over your limit. If you like Kicker and you want to run with it than I would suggest 2 of the Kicker CVR's here...CVR's and the Hifonics Brutus here...Amp. You are looking at about $460 for the subs and amp and then you will need wiring and materials to build a box if done right you could look to spend another $100 on these items but in the interest of money a lot of other brands will get the job done for a better price.
  3. As some of you may know I have a 98 Tahoe that I am building right now that came with two 15" Kicker L7's when I bought the truck after listening to it more and more I just didn't like the way it sounded so I sold the L7's and I decided to pull out the CVX's from my 89 Crown Vic that is sitting on bricks. Unfortunately after checking them out there is a bad coil on each of them so I need to have them repaired. I contacted Kicker and they said they don't repair but offer a discount program and I can get them new for $215 each, however I can buy them brand new from online for $270 or local for $285 each so that deal is not completely worth especially considering I have to ship the old ones first. So here's my question...What should I do? Should I buy new, get the repaired (if so how and where) or what?
  4. Figured the song was about subs but I just can't fudge with Ace Hood he annoys the hell out of me.
  5. I was interested to see it happen though I mean that much power in a car that size OMG got a friend with one of those and that bish is small you can barely get a basketball in a trunk let alone the electricals to run 18k daily...LMFAO but everyone has a dream some people have really big eyes and don't know any better others have friends with inventive imaginations you should have known better than to comment once he said the words 170 and first system. Even if money isn't an option that dream in that car with a friend doing it is highly unlikely.
  6. Thats actually a really good idea I didn't think about that.
  7. Yeah AT&T dsl doesn't look like it would work for me and I will look into those other two you mentioned thanks a lot
  8. As stated in the title I am looking for a new internet service provider and I am not sure what route to take. I use to have Comcast Extreme 50 which my company paid for but they have switched providers and slowed the connection for those of us that work from home. They are now using a company called H Control and the connection is horrible I can't even play COD while my gf is watching Netflix anymore. Unfortunately this is the connection I must use for work so I need to find something else to use for my personal needs, it has to be something that I will not need wiring ran for and needs to be fast enough to support gaming, downloading and online streaming without me lagging on COD. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW I live in Homestead, Florida
  9. Counted my pennies and I am a little off from getting these but with that deadline I should have more than enough time to get my hands on these bad boys
  10. Yeah how much power are you running cause they sound clean as hell what highs are you running?
  11. i like how u say its not a florida thing and for an example u use miami lol LMAO I noticed that after I posted but the owner of the car lived in another state can't remember where though. Miami Chassis is well known for their work and attention to detail they do really big systems and a lot of custom fab work they aren't cheap. I wasn't really giving an example of location I was just saying that I have seen the popularity of the camaro and doing big biiiig rims.
  12. Not just a Florida thing it's an anywhere thing I was at Miami Chassis a few weeks ago and they were doing a Camaro with a really nice Arc Audio custom system dude had big ass 28" Floaters put on the car. IMO big rims on muscle cars makes 0 sense especially considering it was a SS the damn thing is built to go fast not have issues turning corners but to each his own the work on that Camaro was nice people have their own tastes when it comes to cars. I get enough shit about wanting to put my time into hooking up a Civic but when it's all said and done and my car is complete I will be able to shut the naysayers up. I never really get into a way "someone else's" car looks their taste their preference my only gripe is when it sounds like pure
  13. thats what i think, they will take rca's out and use the hdmi's lol. Scion and some other manufacturers who have RCA outs don't use stock units. Last scion I did was a 2010 TC with a double din Pioneer deck which came stock from the factory and with some car makers that have premium sound packages or just want to market the car to a younger "hipper" crowd use Pioneer, Kenwood, Eclipse or Clarion for their stock decks anyway.
  14. BUMP! Forgot I had these up if purchased before the new year I will sell each for $150 or both for $250 together shipped anywhere in the U.S. (Includes APO's).
  15. :woot: Damn time to break open the piggy bank and start counting my pennies...I hope this is open long enough for me to get my money right to get these.
  16. That would be pretty bad ass in the accent but gabbi wasn't having it so I said the civic needed moar powa its going to be an interesting build I can tell you that much
  17. Wow! you better not be putting these in Gabs car haha LOL, Oh noooooo she would castrate me but I am planning a more low key custom system for her accent something that frees up all the space in the cargo area maybe some shallow mount subs like the JL flats but no those sexy ass SA-8's will be going into my next big Civic build coming soon to an SMD forum near you. I just need to get my electricals together.
  18. Don't worry that feeling is common hell when I had everything pulled out while I was building my system I decided to grab my boombox throw some batteries in it and had it in my back seat playing loud as hell. I tried going without a system but that lasted a good 24 hours before I went insane like I can't take the silence its too nerve wrecking.
  19. This will be perfect same question pre order prices and deals would be good to know
  20. LOL I have a SoundStream Ref 705 that I was thinking about selling but it actually ended up in my Tahoe build with a Soundstream Rubicon sitting next to it. My dream amp would have to be "The One" from Phoenix Gold always loved the company and that amp is just beautiful but way the hell out of my price range.
