  1. so last night I was a buddies house and he has this really cool led light on his faucet and he said he got it on this website called www.thinkgeek.com So I went to check it out and found these cool t shirts of some of the rather popular forum slang check em out....
  2. I am willing to put money down that there is a big wire that goes from your positive side of the batter to the alternator, and it hooks to one of those studs back there - from the factory. look again at your cars factory wiring. If not go ask a mechanic in your area, cause you will start causing problems if that wire is not hooked up. The wire of the positive battery post can't be left hangin free under the hood....sparks will fly, and without it being hooked to the alternator, your battery will eventually die.
  3. your factory alternator should have had a wire running from the battery to the alternator right? I was probably a 2 or a 4 gauge wire. Probably had a connector crimped to it with a bolt hole in it right? whichever bolt that wire and connector came off of, will be the same one you put that wire and connector back on to, as well as the wire you are using for that part of the big 3. You are not taking out any of your factory wiring , just enhancing it with bigger wire so the current can choose the path of least resistance....
  4. I say lab or maybe, I would even go so far as to say a " 15 inch beagle " which is an actual breed. Very different from the beagle you are probably thinking of , by the name of course it is much shorter than the hunting style beagle, and has a snout very similar to a pit and a lab. give google a look...
  5. put it on ebay. I have seen trucks in worse shape than yours sell for some nice change....

  7. I am ordering new RCA's, wire holders that hook to the frame, 1/0 ring terminals for the big 3 upgrade, and for power and ground runs to the back from under the truck , heat shrink, and a couple of the distribution blocks. The sundown four channel will be here tomorrow, and my other JL 6.5" comps should be here monday. When it all gets here I will have to take a day off to get it all in....
  8. what size heat shrink do I need to order for 1/0 gauge wire?????? see a few posts down....
  9. My buddy has a 07 altima SL with the bose system, with the 9 speaker setup. His back speakers , the 6x9s are sounding like they have already blown. Instead of going thru the warranty process he would like to upgrade them to something better. He has been told that the bose amp that came wioth the car from the factory will not power aftermarket speakers correctly. Is this truly the case or is somebody trying to sell him shit he doesn't need? I have a set of 6x9s ( see my sig) that I am pulling out of my truck that are a couple of months old, and we want to put them in. What do you guys think? Will they work okay or will we be doing this for nothing. He was told we would need to bypass the bose amp and use a LOC to give a signal to a aftermarket four channel amp. I am saying b.s. !!!! thanks.
  10. regardless of anything else, GET A FUSE between the battery and the amp - or you could be buying a new amp soon too.
  11. high quality as usual, I am starting to expect nothing less out of you steve. I have told everybody I know about this truck. I hope for your benefit this thing gets a magazine cover cause it is gonna certainly be a feature quality build. I hate that I am not within driving distance to catch it at a show or something when it is done. Damn - you are in the wrong line of work at the roofing company
  12. Logically yes. But I do not - DO NOT want to have charging problems running at low speeds and at idle, I know that under drive and over drive pulleys can do the trick , and that my alternator uses some some of regulator, so I will have to wait and see what he says, and with two 3100 batteries out back, I am hoping that can help off set some of the work when I am not blasting at full tilt. If all goes as planned ( i.e. - my girlfriend doesn't bankrupt me on vacation next month ) I will start buying up the goods to get this done.... I ordered the sundown four channel today, and my other set of JL XR comps are on the way here now.
  13. No, he took the 24" s off and put 26" s on, the 24" rims and tires are for sale.
  14. Yeah I agree but which alternator should I get? I realize each one jumps up about 20 bucks, but I am worried about the alternator not charging good at idle, hell at 70 m.p.h. my truck only does about 1400 r.p.m. , I sent dom a email back asking for a better explanation, so that could take a few days I guess.
  15. If it runs and you can get a hood and a door very soon , then go for it. bumper covers are easy to get , and depending on where you live you might get a ticket for driving without them.
  16. Irragi emailed me back today.... YAY !!!!! The bad news is , this aint gonna be cheap 180 $ roughly 480 200 $ roughly 490 220 $ roughly 520 240 $ roughly 540 260 $ roughly 560 280 $ roughly 580 300 $ roughly 600 he said " all model are the same at your engine idle" does this mean it will maintain a steady output at idle, I dont want no check engine lights coming on..... So here is my question If I run this set up : 2 - Sundown audio 3000watt subwoofer amplifiers 2- 15" Fi BTL subwoofers 1- Sundown Audio 4 x 100watt stereo amplifer 1- powermaster battery up front to replace the factory battery ( either a D975, D1200 or a D5100, etc. - whichever will fit?) 1- powermaster D3100 in the back, I have room for 2 if need be. what alternator should I try and run, even if I put two power master 3100 s in the back ?
  17. No, I am not. I have a damn good job, and I am educated enough to know how to manage my money so I can afford to buy things when I want them. Lemme know when you have a job, a mortgage, and a new truck, before you go hatin'
  18. I usually dont walk around sayin " hey asshole I'm rockin 300 dollar jeans ". You guys were all tossing your labels around, so I figured I would too. Maybe a bit extreme by postin pics, but hell you can't even buy the mens jeans in savannah, so yeah I am kinda proud of em, cause it is pretty rare that I say anyone else wearing them around here.
  19. I just browsed the whole thread, and there are some amazing pets on here. I live in a townhouse so, no big dog for me. Although I would love a pit. One of my good friends had one and he was the best dog I have ever encountered. The friendliest and gentlest Pit bull, let alone dog in general. Damn thing loved cheetos though . My buds mom kinda ended up taking the dog as her own and he was and still is a huge baby. Strong and solid, but literally a teddy bear. AND his ears aint cut. My girl wants a miniature dachshund. ( sigh ) ....whatever. I have always wanted a siberian husky or a red malamute.
  20. Aaron I am truly jealous. He is adorable. I miss having a dog around. Maybe when we get back from california.?
