  1. The subs aren't sharing airspace ^^^ They are each in their own divided chambers. I still think it's a cancellation issue though.
  2. Also, I didn't see any exact dimensions for your enclosure and your sealed chamber. You did mention 2.7 cubes which IS over what is recommended. In an acoustic suspension enclosure, the sub acts as a spring. If you've got too much air, you can lose mechanical control of the subwoofer. I realize .2 doesn't sound like a bunch over spec, but it IS indeed over what is suggested. Can you give us EXACT dimensions of the sealed chambers please?
  3. I'm betting on improperly set gain as well. I know you used a DD1. Using the DD1 properly though is going to be hard to convey over text. Could you walk us through the process on HOW the DD1 was used to determine no distortion? I'm pointing the finger at gain setting, and if not, like . BUMP4Life said, cancellation.
  4. I don't know WHY you're mixing Type Rs and these Sundown E series. This confuses me, why are you running two different enclosures with 2 different subs?
  5. The port length need to stay a consistent 2.5" for the entire length of the port.
  6. You're in a sealed box? Pictures of box please? How did you cut the holes for the subwoofer cutout? Did you seal the box well, if so, how? Did you check for air leaks?
  7. They port length looks wider than the rest of the areas of the port. The width of the section with the port opening to the outside of the box appears to be different than the port section in the internal area.
  8. Also Steve, I already have a black signed hat from you. A white one would be tits
  9. I am guessing it's a new bodystyle Tahoe. I'll take my Flexfit in a S/M
  10. If you're truly getting 3.5 cubes merry, that port length tunes you right around 36 Hz. You still have too much much power for that sub. That is a big problem.
  11. It's less space than I would run. I'd want 3 cubes after sub and port displacement. I wouldn't run 3 cubes on the power you're planning to run. I would set your gain VERY VERY conservatively on that sub. You're planning to send twice rated power to the thing. That's too much power that thing. With 14" of port length on that diameter of port(this is me using rough math) you're likely around 40 Hz tuning.
  12. I just saw two E15s put up a 144.9 off of a Sundown SAZ1500D today. They aren't monsters, but in the right install with enough cone area they do alright.
  13. I was prepared to give him a deal on my amp also. I had it listed for $75 shipped and he PMd me with lowest I'd take. I said $60 and even labeled the for sale thread as "Pending sale". Time to go change that
  14. He also PMd me regarding the old school Memphis 4 channel that I'm selling saying he would send the money that day or the next. I've received about a couple of different messages at different times with him saying that same thing. The original conversation started on the 14th with two different times him stating he would pay. I'm thinking if he had paid and I'd waited that amount of time to ship, he would definitely be messaging in a hurry...
  15. It's strange that you've asked about a trade twice and both times with Skar equipment. I HAVE no issue with Skar personally, but I remember that thread was full of overwhelming results to keep the Fi. Do you have proper room to run the Fi? I doubt the answer you get this time will be much different than the answers you received last time. It seems to me like you're looking for a change, so go ahead and make your trade. No one can tell you which setup will make you happier.
  16. Your ears can't hear clipping....get your gain set properly. Who designed and built your box?
  17. I think I said that earlier^^^ Did he also mention why?(Which I also mentioned earlier)?
  18. It was said long ago from Steve himself, I believe, to set with the vehicle OFF. The reason behind it was so the noise of the vehicle itself(alternator whine for example) wasn't a possible factor with the vehicle being off. With the vehicle OFF, there isn't going to be that possible distortion to allow the device to accurately measure and isolate what's going on with the amp and HU.
  19. I guess I never hear about them and they were a short run. I don't remember the subs from that line at all. I see that it says 100% American made and I'd assume quality and money went into the designs. It's just strange they didn't GO anywhere, they just stopped.
  20. The proper advice to give someone in this format(to be safe), is to recommend sticking with manufacturer's specs. It's one of those "if you have to ask" situations. I'd feel bad if this guy got so many suggestions to run the sub at double the RMS daily and he locked the coil up. I've seen these things get smelly on a clean 3000W, so the suggestion that the 3300W from a T2500bd is a poor suggestion. We all may have seen different outcome but to openly suggest double the power to someone we don't know is a less than great idea.
