    Just say no to clamping huh? So what about clamping alternators?Is that still okay?

      Exactly.So this whole clamping vs dyno thing, are we saying that all clamps are inaccurate or are we just saying clamping an amp is wrong and if so why only an amp?

      It's not wrong, just helps to know the load. Unlike most things you find yourself clamping the load on an amp is reactive. If your clamp meter costs more than $20 chances are it is accurate to the tenth.
