  1. i just bought one from then a few weeks ago. call them. they usually dont answer but they always call me back right away
  2. i would like one also. lanyards would be a cool idea too
  3. my trunk rattles like a biotch in my monte carlo. i do have a ported box with the port facing the back of the trunk. i tried it facing forward but it was a little quieter in side the car. but i had almost no rattles outside. my next build is gonna be 4 12s and its gonna be tuned to have the port go inside the car. and remove the rattles onn the outside.
  4. thanks again man! i used a DMM and set the gains on my amps and they are 100% spot on. and i found were they distort at with the DD-1. and they arnt blown! they are pounding harder then ever. this dd-1 is awesome.
  5. lol yes i saw that as i was looking around. i see the words "louder" and i got excited
  6. allright i just looked up how to do that so i will do that tomarrow. i appreciate the help. just hope my subs are okay.
  7. hello i recieved my DD-1 and went to go test it out. i have a completely alpine system. My HU distorts at 29 at 1khz and it doesnt distort at all at 40hz. amd 35 being max for my hu. now i got my mids and highs amp(alpine F-300) beautifully, they sound amazing. i have 2 alpine MRP-500s powering 2 alpine 12in type Rs(each amp powers its own sub.) now this is were i got beyond confused. i figured id make my MAX valume to be 31 just to be safe as this was my first attempt with the DD-1. so i had the volume on 31 changed it over to track 7. one of my bass amps distorted roughly around 3/4 and the other one didnt distort even with the gain nob on full. and it didnt show a 40hz led on the DD-1.. so i thought WTF? so i just followed what my other bass amp said since they are the exact same and powering the same sub.. turned it up slowly sounded like pure shit. went back at it again. this time my DD-1 said it distorts just over 1/4 on the gain nob. on that low of a gain it doesnt even know a "signal" led on the DD-1. it doesnt make any sense to me what so ever. i also fear that my subs are blown to pieces because it was that bad. and it smells like a burnt voice coil. but its dark now and i just gave up for now hoping to go back tomarrow with working subs.... any suggestions on why this is.???
  8. as the title states i try to order the DD-1 from WCCaraudio.com and it says "Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address." i checked my address and all the stuff i typed in but got no were. any ideas?
  9. oo i like specials! and their alternator for my car is cheaper then the DC one by quite a bit. and its 270a I vote for DC Power. With my 270XP, my voltage is 13.8-13.9 (because of my cars computer) and only drops to 13 full tilt with a 5k, 175.4, lights and max a/c turned on. holy shit. thats relieving because i want to drop 4 12s in the back later in the year. mine struggles with no lights on but the mechman one is still 270a just 200$ cheaper
  10. yeah i was afraid of that after looking at the price of the DC power alternators. any other good alternator brands around that anyone would like to recommend? money isnt really an issue just dont want to blow 700$ when i could have gotten the same thing for 400$ you know? thanks ray!
  11. yes that was not my battery just so everone is clear on that lol. my battery is probably 4 months old. i got it while i had one alpine type S and one amplifier, it worked well for that application . but anyways those alternators i was looking at were probably not good i havent seen their names anywere. i have been looking at these DC power ones. and i checked my volts car off = 12.45 volts at the battery car on 14.4 volts not sure if my music has be playing but the music was on very quietly. any suggestions on what i should too? i pretty nooby when it comes to batteries and alternators so thats im here posting I want to learn the most i can.
  12. now this makes more sense to me. cause i have never seen a car with a large system with just one regular old battery. most have at least 2 XS power, stinger, ETC batteries. yes that does make a lot of sense my amps alone are pulling more power then my alternator puts out. ill look at getting a HO alternator with a XS power 3400 under the hood and see what that does and if its still dropping a lot ill put a smaller battery in the trunk as well. man i appreciate everyones help very much! i love this forum already!
  13. Voltage drops are actually pretty harmful for all electrical components. Remember this... Lower Voltage = Higher Amperage per Watt. Higher Amperage = MORE HEAT! So, if you are running 1,000 watts at 14 volts, that is just over 71 AMPS, but if that drops down to the 11 ~ 10 range it changes to over 90 AMPS. Plus, I think an automotive battery "dies" when it drops below 10.5 volts... As stated previously, a BIG-3 upgrade will help with running voltage, but do you only see drops at night? The problem may just be the fact that your alternator is not capable of keeping up with your amplifiers (Most likely the case). I am currently only 800 watts, and at night while my headlights are on, I see small drops on heavy notes. My alternator is only a 95 Amp, and I remember reading the headlights & fog lights alone eat up near 40 Amperes. So, I know that doesn't leave exactly enough for the 60+ Amperes being requested by my amplifier. A battery is a good solution, ONLY IF YOU PLAY MUSIC WITH THE CAR OFF. A battery will keep you running a little longer, but ultimately the alternator is where the power comes from. If your alternator can't keep up, your battery will never get fully charged; and you could prematurely kill it. I had a friend who ran an optima yellow top, and every time he got to where he was going, he had to sit and rev his engine for a few minutes before he could turn the truck off. Simply because, the alternator couldn't keep his amplifiers juiced, so the battery had to help fill in. i see voltage drops and dimming lights when ever my car is on and the stereo is at a decent volume. i have a display on my dash that has the typical "P, R, N, D ETC.) and that will dim way down. at night i do have HIDs in my head lights and fog lights. with some Leds under my dash. leds dont take much power but they are there. i did notice my amps were pretty hot last night. interesting point i can buy a nice HO alternator for around the same money as a XS battery. if i play music i turn my car on always cause it will kill my battery in a matter of minutes so i never play music with the car off.. im gonna have to look at getting me a new alternator now! . my stock alternator is only 102 amps so there is alot of room for improvement there. yeah thats not good.. so you suggest a battery? i have looked on other forums and most of the time people just upgrade their battery and not the alternator. i have even seen someone put 2 XS power batteries on a stock alternator.. which is a little confusing since mine cant keep up with my lousy die hard battery
  14. Im running 4 Gauge so the results may be dif for you. I need to clean my battery up XD i do have alot of 4 gauge laying around but i think ill wait till i get my hands on some 0 gauge. thanks for the help man! okay this is what i was looking for! iknew it couldnt be good cause my volt gauge dropped off into the red and it started flashing and beeping.. well judging by your SIG you have quite a bit more power in the trunk then i do.. mine drops alot worse at night. but during the day i still get dimming lights on my dash. its frustraiting.
  15. no i have been wanting too for the past month but audiosavings has been out of cadence 0 gauge for a long time. and im a perfectionist when it comes to every wire being the same... but i am wanting to do that. i didnt think id see that much of voltage increase with that so thats good! thanks for the quick reply man!
  16. hello forum! this is my very first post on here so hopefully this is in the right section and i dont break any rules. i drive a 2001 monte carlo with a diehard battery. i have 3 amps hooked up 2 alpine mrp-500s and a mrp-f300 for the mids and highs. i have two alpine type R-12s. and i was driving home last night and my volts went down to the mid 10s ... basically what im wondering is, will that much of a drop cause possible harm to my system? i want to buy a XS power 3400. but i was waiting to buy it since its a little expensive but if it will blow amps or something like that then im going to order one today. anyways thanks to anyone that responds! im looking forward to spending alot of time on this forum!
