  1. for some reason i dont like any of your advice for this guy...... you have good intentions i believe ...... but i think you may be slightly uneducated about electrical.... not tryin to be a dick or bash you at all cuz i have alot to learn also..... but im pretty sure he would be fine on a small run of 4 gauge as long as his ground wire is short too.... and yes i would fuse after the dist. block also with a 100 amp fuse..... you will normally smell your wire getting hot before it goes up in flames.... ( i did it a LOOOONG time ago b4 i knew anything) unless its in a trunk. definitly keep your eye on voltage cuz voltage drop will be your worst enemy i would think...... just my 2 cents SlamminSL1....again not tryin to stab at you just sayin what i think from your posts.... where you located in ct? im in west hartford

  6. eq is already pending..... if it doesnt go through then i will pm you
  7. i installed my alarm, keyless entry, and remote start myself....... really wasnt HARD....but wasnt easy.... very tedious as you have to make sure you probe every wire with a dmm..... a test light came with my alarm and was helpfull in the sense of knowing quickly whether a circuit was grounded or not when its a closed circuit..... other than being time consuming.....its a good thing to learn and at the same time can cause huge wiring issues if done wrong..... i use http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/ they have helpful wiring guides too! for alarms and stereo...... this is where i bought mine like $127 shipped which wasnt bad at all
  8. congrats steve! im another person that was inspired by your countless videos and by the tahoe years ago lol chode.... i subscribed lol

  13. i want to lol but i wanna know about sealed boxes before i build this box..... i dont know ANYTHING about sealed boxes besides that they are sealed and they can have decent output. but can a sealed box be too big? how big should i go?
  14. ok so maybe a sealed box then lol..... but my question is..... can a sealed box be too big or small? like what if i wanted a 6 foot cubed sealed box? would it be louder?
  15. they are the 8 ohm version unfortunatly and yes i got a pair of these today from a buddy on a good trade. and Kranny i was thinkn the same thing..... to get an amp thatll do an actual 1000 watts rms @ 4 ohms is definitly gunna take some cash..... i dont really wanna sell but if you got another pair of 15's that are worth it for me i might think about gettin rid of them
  16. lmao that port is straight death to anything that comes near it.....eggs, phonebook, now droid...... wonder whats next?
  17. should i do 4th order or just make a ported box..... for dimensions on torres box calc i came up with 18h by 24 w by 24d= 4.83 cubic feet having trouble with port area...... dont know how much port i should need..... gunna be way underpowered for the time being til i can afford a new amp...... they will see about 300 rms and they are rated for 500 rms a piece per mtx i want it tuned low cuz i like the low lows specs of subs: Free Air Resonance Fs 21.5 Hz Volume Acoustic Suspension Vas 7.37 Ft^3 (208.8 l) Total Q Qts .41 Electrical Q Qes .42 Mechanical Q Qms 9.62 DC Resistance Re 7.49 Ohm Linear Excursion (One Way) Xmax .50” (12.7 mm) Effective Piston Diameter D 13.000” (.3302 m) RMS Power Handling RMS 500 Watts Total Power Handling Total 1500 Watts Sensitivity 1W/1m SPLo 89.0 dB Reference Efficiency No 0.46% Frequency Response 20 - 150Hz Voice Coil Inductance Le 9.2 mH Gap Height .375” (9.5 mm) Voice Coil Height 1.250” (31.8 mm) Motor Force BL 25.41 Tm Compliance Cms .203 mm/N Total Moving Mass Mms 271.0 g Moving Mass of Driver Mmd 256.6 g Suspension Losses Rms 3.80 Effective Surface Area Sd 132.7 in^2 Mounting Diameter 14” Overall Diameter 15 5/8 ” (396.9 mm) Mounting Depth 6 9/16” (166.7 mm) Overall Depth 7 3/16” (182.6 mm) Speaker Displacement (Inside Box) 352in^2 (5.8 l) Speaker Displacement (Outside Box) 235in^2 (3.9 l) suggestions? i have a ton of space in my wagon as the back seats fold flat so space really isnt an issue
  18. /\ dude that would piss me off sooooo bad. good point though! and theres alot of assholes that would do it
  19. /\ just realized you have 25,253 posts..... holy shit! end of threadjack
  20. that "thing" next to the brake fluid is your clutch fluid level.....it is a hydraulic clutch right? if its not then its a cable clutch and you prolly snapped the clutch cable..... only other thing i could think of is that your shifter linkage may have popped off..... happens alot in fwd vehicles...its usually on the drivers side under maybe the airbox? have someone move the shifter and look for something moving under the hood on that side....if its connected to a rod or an arm...thats not the problem..... edit: you said clutch works fine......check that shifter linkage!!!! has happened to me in a 94 saturn sc2 and a 04 pt cruiser. sux cuz it stays in gear and the shifter is all wobbly and shit
