Mine reads about 4 to 8 dbs high. I'm sure it also depends on where it is mounted. Mine is right under the deck in the center of the dash.

For that budget, you will have to stay pretty small and/or low-end. What car? How much room do you have?

Yeah, just really long rolls of regular firecrackers. Leave them rolled up and they all go fast like that. The roll is at least two feet across.

All the fireworks stands around here sell them . This year they were cheaper than I've ever paid before. 50 bucks a roll.

We have a tradition of shooting those big rolls of firecrackers every year. Here's the threads from the last two years if you want to check them out. 2008 2009 This year we had big plans but it poured rain most of the day so we couldn't set it up. We shot several rolls one at a time and then took the last three and set them together. The video is dark because it was raining pretty good at the time. You can barely make out the guy holding the umbrella over them so it would light. Hopefully next year will be better weather.

I doubt anyone can really answer that. Even IF you gave a lot more information about your set-up, it would still be just a guess as to what would sound the "best".
