Interesting. Should I move my box closer to the hatch? It's nearly a foot away..

My HDC3 18 is making a noise that I can't quite describe, but I will do my best. It sounds almost like it's clipping, like a hollow type coily noise...it happens even at low volumes and I'm 100% nothing is clipping because my voltage is good, and tested the HU and amp with an o-scope.. Monday I will get around to checking the coils and seeing what they read, but is it possible that since my cut out is a hair too small that it could be stressing the basket or something and causing the sub to not excurt perfectly? Because I just had the sub inverted and I didn't hear the noise....Maybe Nikitaaa can get in here and help me describe the noise since he heard it today.

Okay I think I understand. Why is there an adjustment for CD, USB, and AUX then?

Is this like Loud or what? It increases the volume and I'm curious if it clips it like Loud does. It is on my Pioneer DEH-6000UB

4th order so I can get loud and have a decent frequency range that I lose from tuning a normal ported box to 27. I want to tune a ported box to 27 because I like slowed songs and I like lows. It's not the ported tuning of a 4th.

Haha sorry I wasn't clear. If it wouldn't perform well in a 4th, then I would do a straight up ported box tuned to 27ish hz, NOT the ported part of the 4th at 27hz, I know that's crazy haha...

How well would this sub perform in a 4th order and approximately how much space would it take up? You think I should just do ported? I'll be tuning in the high-ish 20's. Like 27hz.

I'm considering getting an SSD 18, but I would like to know how well it would perform in a 4th order off of ~1100 rms and how much space is needed to do this. I've never had an 18 let alone a 4th order so fill me in on what I need to know!

What about the Skar VVX-15? It says 1200w max power, but could it take 1k daily?

I'm planning on getting either a 15" or 18" sub that will take ~1k rms daily. I need some companies who make affordable 18's that can perform like this. Please give me some names of who to check out for either 15's OR 18's, but preferably 18's And I know the popular (around here) companies like DC, DD, AA etc so no need to name them... I've looked at Obsidian (but I don't want to wait forever to get one), Sundown, AQ...I don't plan on spending over $250ish.....
