  1. Shouldn't the fuses protect the amp? why short wires don't need fuses? And 150X4 is 600A, which is 100A more than it should be, wouldn't it be a problem?
  2. Hello ! What is the best way to wire my fuses when using 5K with dual inputs (means I have 4 positive cables from the rear batterey to the amp) ?
  3. I participated in building a setup of 2 12" level 3's with the level 4 upgraded coils and spiders, they are mounted in a much smaller box (2.2CF instead of 3CF) in order to help them to take this kind of power, and I can honestly tell that they're really at the edge of their power handling. I think it would be safer (and also louder) taking subwoofers that are more close to the power that you have, like the level 4's.
  4. The 3.5K is capble powering 4 lvl 3's. they're 900RMS each. I'd say go with more powerful subwoofers and not more powerful amp.
  5. It really looks something special. You don't see this kind of beautiful subwoofer everyday.
  6. Great work! great result! Do you have better quality photo?
  7. So in a given subwoofer situation, how more output can be achieved?
  8. Thanks all, Xl 15" were chosen over the lvl4's as he won't upgrade his electricity propperly for another amp. I'll update with the the new setup!
  9. I think that 2 12" would have a bit more cone area than 3 10's. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  10. Looks great as always ! Are there any guts photos ?
  11. Just to drive you guys to help a bit more, here's the install of the current setup: 2007 Golf GTI Stage 2 Before: Making some plans: Proud with his brands: The 2.0K: Celestra FA 475X: 4x90 @ 4 ohms Behinf the scene: 0 AWG CCA- another one would be added, maybe will be replaced with OFC's. Hertz High Energy XL- Great component set! Final result- clean and tidy ! 12" Level 4, the port is at the side of the box. so.... Does someone has a good recommendation of volume? maybe CJ of Jeff ?
  12. Hello ! I'm about to plan a box for 2 12" level 4 with 2 DC 2.0K's As there is more power than recommended, I thought about shrinking the enclosure's volume. Would 1.25-1.3 each be o.k or should I shrink it more to about 1.1-1.2 or so ? Thanks !
  13. The benefit of taking 2 ohms is that you're able to add another one in the future and work standardly on every final 1 ohm amp.
  14. Looks great! I love the upgraded Level 3's, they give awsome results!
  15. 1997 Mitsubishi Colt (Mirage) Stock alt 1 D3400 (under hood) 1 D3100 (in the trunk) 2 12" DC Level 3 m2 / lv4 coils. 1 DC 5.0k (gain all the way down- about 3000W clamped) 2.2 CF ported box (1.1 per sub- pretty small). 145.2 sealed on dash: ;;;Skoda Octavia II Stock alt Stock Battery 1 15" Ascendant Audio Havoc 1 3500.1 Audioque (clamped 1500-1700 rms) 4 cuft box in the boot 145 sealed on dash @39 hz There was an havoc running on SAZ1500d in the Colt before the DC's. Score didn't reach 140.
  16. Is placing the port between the subwoofers better than on the side? doesn't it makes one woofer work different than the oother ?
  17. New 8's is great idea! I think the biggest advantage of the 8" is their size, therefore I'd love to see ones that capable playing in smaller enclosures that 10's, I think the smaller volume for the smaller woofer is their major justification.
  18. Torres BTC, Bass box 6 pro and google sketchup are my favorite tools.
  19. Does someone know what is the recommended sealed volume for the 12" lvl5 when used in Bandpass 4th order ?
