oh, and do 45's in the port make that much diff? i can do em but i dunno if it will be a noticeable difference in sound and i was gunna design it as if it was 2 ported boxs put together, but can i just use one piece of 3/4 for the middle of the port? and i dunno if i will need any braceing cause the way i make my boxs they dont flex at all lol, and would faceing the sub box twards the back of teh cab kinda like a backwards downfire box and make it ported sound like shit? i'm tryin to do some clean work but dunno were to start and would like a pic of somethin to see if it will look like shit or not and i got carpet to match my interior so im all good there -

i want something thats tuned to play a pritty flat range but still dip low when i want it to im all for building stuff but dont kno how to tune a port and dont kno if my 5500's will be louder ported or my 8000's, the 8000's move more but i dunno, and the 55's are dual 4 vs the 8k's are single 4 and for some reason my 5500's wouldn't play lows that good in the sealed box i built to spec for them, but my 8000's pump out some lows quite nicely but dont play the higher notes like my 8000's do, i dont kno what to do really i listen to alot of rock and country, but still like to wang on some rap and rnb every now again i might just say hell with it and built that spec box mtx designed for the 5500 1544 and double it for 2 and slap it in the truck and see how it sounds, and if its ok i'll pretty it up a lil bit, just dont kno how to go bout my rear fill, i can put my rear 6&1/2's in teh back on the sides of the box were factory holes are but i dont kno if i can hear em over the bass, and i need some rear fill to help out the door speakers a lil bit, i might just make my box as wide as the one i got now and just make that ported box to spec and run my wires threw the ends like my old setup just dont kno what to do with the amps either lol, i might just keep em on the lil amp rack i got built now, makes it alot easier to adjust too -
if u get some titanium drill bits i think u might can just bore all the way threw the top were the screw goes threw and put a nut on bottom and ring terminal on speaker wires, should work, i would do it if my speaker outputs wasnt at an angle and since u got 2 sets of screws are they all stripped or just 2 of em? ied try another route if i could
-
but befor doing anything, if u have enough room to rethread i would rethread it to another bolt pattern i think u drill it out and thread it but i think u can still rethread a threaded hole, i would try a rethread first, and if that dont work try the other option, thats bout all i can think of bro i hate stripped set screws, and phillips set screws, ied rather have an alan head screw than anything
-
what i do when screws go to shit is just strip some wire back about 2'' or so and run it threw the screw hole and back out the bottom and twist it on itself and then solder it and wa la, but i dnt kno what you can do with 8guage or so speaker wire they make a rethreading meterial for machine parts but theres not that many thread rows on an amps screws if its a set screw i dunno what to do but if its one of those type screws that have a flat piece on top to hold down the wire u could prolly run a smaller bolt down threw it and put a nut on the end and then u can wrench the fuk out of it lol

i want one of those beat pad things like most producers use, i set around and make beats just beatin on shit i useto have fruity loops, and u could make beats with that but it was hard or for me it was till i found youtube n now lost the program i wanna be a producer some day but aint got half the programs i useto have i wished more programs were less priced, or atleast give dimos of them first like virtual dj pro, i useto have it but lost the disk n now it sells for like $300+ so i unno goodluck finding a site mang -
use mtx's ported box design, i built one of theres for my 5500 15 and it wanged and my buddy built one of there boxs for a 9500 1544 with 2 mtx 942's on it it was makeing the sunvisors start flappin heres the pdf for his subs http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/TechData_T8512-04.pdf dunno if there dual 4 or single 4 but cant be much diff between the 2

you got more pics of that setup steven? that looks sick, and if i did that i would slap some leds in there for temp reverse lights i want to do something like this so when i unload stuff out of my truck at night i can have them come on so i can see behind me, i got some cheap fog lights but that will look like shit imo

acually if u got a good electrical system boss amps aint that bad if u drop the ohm load down enough, my 300w boss amp pushed one of my mtx 8000's somethin fierce in that ported box i had it in, didn't have to turn the gain above 1/4 and it was wangin, and the sub is 500rms i dunno, some companys useto be good but they just went to shit

haha, with 1/2'' wood ur box gunna be a passive radiator foreal if ur truck is extended cab i would wall it rather than doin a blowthrew, i kno i like blowthrews like the next basshead but it wont work out like u would want it to 3 18's in a blowthrew would be sick but box has to be built damn good, i dont use anything under 3/4 for sub boxs for any type of speaker cept my 6&1/2's i used 1/2'' lol, and it was birch your gunna be in a world of hurt when u try to get those loud with that small of wood if you have a tano cover over ur bed u might could do 2 subs inverted and one regular in something like a 4th order bandpass or somethin hell why not just do a sealed box? would cut down on size and will let u do ur 3/4'' wood to help wit flexin, and sealed boxs get loud too

i unno but i think it has to be incontact with air for it to cure but im not to sure about it do you kno the temp outside when u did this? might not have been warm enough? and i dont do expanding foam cause theres so many diff kinds of it and some will shrink after a while and some will expand more than shrink i take weatherazation at collage and we do alot of expanding foam type stuff and its really tricky how it works but ive seen some ppl use it in there trunks braceing and it would expand to much and start chipping the paint from swelling also did u tape it all up and then stick the tube threw the tape and spray it in each hole? thats what i would do, should work better than tapeing it all off and then spray it but i wouldn't tape it at all really, by the time it starts cureing it wont drip much and then u could take a hand sander and just sand it back down to what it needs to be shit gets tricky when u try to use construction made stuff for a car, it will work but theres certian ways on how to do it and like most ppl use secondskin and dynamat for deadning, i use peal and seal roofing sheet metal tape, it has a thermal part and is a shit load cheaper and is pritty easy to use also, got my doors done in my truck with it and it works pritty well, not saying its better but its alot cheaper, about a 30-40ft roll of peal and seal is like $30 or so and a dynamat door kit is like $100 at best buy anyways if it was me i would take a 5gal bucket and hold it up under the thing and peal the tape off slowly n let it come out and just refill it

i got one of these lil buggers and i love it, is a good add on to factory radios and some older radios its currently hooked to a pioneer tape player i got out of dads old work truck its 80watts and a 4ch amp with i forgot how many bands on the eq it sounds pritty sweet for what it is i just wonder how the hell it works it has one neg for left side and one neg for right side, 1 pos for left front, 1 pos for left rear, 1 pos for right front, and 1 pos for right rear i had it hooked up to some old bookshelf speakers i play wit and they sounded pritty good i was thinking about adding it to a stock radio or something but dunno if it will work with current technology like the oldschool stuff was were u grounded all ur speaker neg wires and just ran pos to everything ive yet come across pics of one on google n what knot so i might take some pics of it later on, i got some oldschool pioneer truck speakers that i might add to it just for collector items i guess
