x2 thats what ive always done, its better to save n get what u want first instead of gettin somethin cheap n be like nah i want somethin diff n then go n get somethin else, n not like that either n then get somethin else, ive done that to many times to count but i think i got around $2500-$2800 worth of stuff in my truck so far but im plenty satisfied with it and it does want i want, what i done when i was buildin my system was first off, get a decent headunit, then get some good mids n highs, then a amp for mids n highs(trust me it makes a diff cause when ur runnin around 75wrms to a good set of componits works alot better than off headunit) then ied do a run of 1/0 just because u'll always upgrade from there n its easyer to step down 1/0 than haveing to rip out 8guage n put in 4, n then take out 4 n put in 1/0, n then after u do that get a good sub amp n then some subs, n depends on wattage if u need a rear battery or not, i say if ur runnin over 800wrms a rear battery is better than a cap n sometimes cheaper, and then if u want to upgrade power u can just add more batts instead of takein out wire n ish, just a side note is u get what u pay for and ive found that out alot lol, anyways hope that helps

for some reason every tweet ive tryed to get a ohm load onto didn't come up with any ohm load at all and the tweet was fine, ied measure the tweet by itself n then see what u got, most memphis amps can be ran at 1ohm or 2ohm in stereo, but ive seen some ma audio amps were u could wire down to .5ohm and it still work fine but i dont think it would power that much from one side of speaker, now ive heard most mids n highs amps if u set the gain just right u can wire em down to 1ohm stereo if need be just dont let it clip and it will be fine, i got a comp set and a set of coax's with a extra set of tweets n my amp reads 2.6ohms on each channel so no problem, u can wire it 1ohm if u want to cause independance rise will put that 1ohm at about 1.8 or so and should help if u keep gain set right tho cause wireing those 6x9's in series wont let em get there wattage they need, ied try wireing it like that, ied wire the 6x9's n 6&1/2 in parallel n should be around 1.9ohm after rise prolly and see how it sounds for around 10 min of turnin up n down to see if it clips or not and if its fine ied do it like that, my buddy that sells memphis said if u keep the gain down enulf not to clip u can wire em to 1ohm if need be cause mids n highs amps dont do like sub amps would, shouldn't harm anything i dont think ive done it myself and no prob so far, if ur worried and its a 4channel wire the 6x9's on teh rear 2ohm each channel and the 6&1/2 and tweet on front channel 2ohm or what ever it registers and do it that way will work fine, and can u get a pic of the amp?

oh, well the way i soilder is i stick the tip to the wire, while heating up teh wire i let the soilder run down the iron and onto the wire then i'll move it around with the iron then just tin it more after that, hope that helps but everyone to there own i guess, good luck with ur project

i use one like this for my soildering http://bmwdean.home.att.net/soldergun.htm heres another link to there website http://www.wenproducts.com/solderingtools.aspx there soldering irons are the best imo, take only 4sec to heat up and has diff tips u can use for diff things, well worth the money to, the one i have is the older one like in the top pic but mines black, ied invest in one if u do much soildering, i'll never go back to one of those shitty pointy tips again, this thing gets hot in 4 secs and gets cool in about 10secs

what 4ch exactly is it cause some sony 4ch can be ran as a 2ch to run subs, and some can be ran 4, 3 channel u can run 4 mids to it or 2 mids and a sub , ied pittle with settings and see if thats what it is and i kno it aint low voltage cause when my other duralast redtop was diein it was still jammin at 9v so sonys work at low voltages and still work good, i got a 600w 4ch wired front n rears to the front side, and runnin one of my mtx 5500 15's on the rear briged 8ohm so far till i get a bigger amp for the subs, it might be ur rcas cause i had a set of sound quest rcas runnin to my sub amp and the soilder broke off and shorted out and didn't sound worth a shit, ied unhook ur rcas and take out the headunit and run another set over the seat straight to it and see how that works and if it works then it might be those rcas

what does it do at 2ohm and how much did it set u back? ied like a new amp for my 8000's 400rms goin to each sub just aint cuttin it for me i want to see what they can do

i have no idea, what kinda amp u got runnin to em? it could be the amp, it could be the mids, or the headunit or the wire, there so many verables

damn i would of atleast made a board n mounted amp to seat and put wires under amp to clean em up a lil or hide behind carpet on seat back just cut a hole in it and run threw up to amp, and thats a shop doin shit like this? he must of been in a hurry to do that ish, it i owned a shop ied take my time but still to it as fast as i could to get the best outcome, ied like to work for a shop i got to many tools to just do shit for myself

oooh, nah no need for new headunit, i got a link in my sig to fix u right up on that engin noise, i kno it sucks like hell my pioneer premire 680 has really bad engin noise somethin awefull, but i done whats in my sig and it works perfect, my new 860 doesnt have engin noise prolly cause its got 6.5v rca outputs tho, anyways click the link in my sig on how to ground ur rcas and that should fix the engin noise and the mids cuttin out?

you think they will be better than a set of polk audio db6500 comps? i got a set of 6500 comps and a set of 651 coax in my geo and they sound ok but i think i need to seal off the front pods somehow to get some midbass but mine handle around 300watts peak each side and i think im giveing em around 75wrms each but they get really loud and clean to but would wonder how i could seal the backside of my pods off i was gunna put some cloth over it, resen it then a lil mat, then resen and once it sets up i'll bore a hole in it for wire and that should do it? anyways good feedback on a decently priced set of comps
