    Sounds like you are off to a good start. I think you would get more out of it if you made the box a little bigger. Edit: If you had the room to make it bigger... Either way, good start.

    Put the sub back in the box and hook up each coil by it self. That will tell you which coil is bad. Play it on the good coil until you can get another sub.

    Touching the cone in any way will change the ohms. Moving the sub while trying to get a reading will change it also. If the sub is loose enough, even wind can change the reading.

    It is possible that you have popped one of the coils and the other still works, which would change your ohm load. Plus the coil that popped could be shorting out the amp. I have done that before. I could play it at a low volume and it would play fine but turn it up pass half way and it goes into protect. Take the sub(s) out and check each voice coil to see whats what.

    You got a broke amp or a loose wire or a popped coil. Those are the only things that I can think of that would cause that. Last thought, are you sure you got the subs wired right???

    I am very happy with the changer, its a Schumacher model Se-75 something. I put it on the 2 amp charge for deep cycles. It will start out around 13 volts and end at 15.2 or .3 volts. And it will maintain them nicely too. My two G31's rest at 13.2 when finished. I charge them both at the same time, it doesn't seem to bother it none. I am sure there are better chargers out there but are you going to notice. (I am sure someone will say yes just to say yes.)
