don't have the money to re design. im just not understanding how the coils are getting hot so quick. I followed everything in the manual that came with the dd-1 and still having issues. when I say +1 I meant like 20hz and 50hz mostly every other frequency is flat -

im running them at 1ohm. It could be the lpf thing but as all amps it only gives you two numbers so its hard to adjust. and the subs get pretty warm not super hot. but to an extent where you can smell a little bit. on 80prs the loudness I have off. and the eq is mostly flat I only do like +1 or 2 on certain ones. I don't use bass boost at all. -

I did use the -10 and its still clipping. also at higher gains when setting the amp, the amp itself makes a buzzing noise. -

I had the eq before I bought the 80prs but I got rid of it now I am just running the 80prs. I used track 5 the compromise. I have tried track 3 but it just not loud at all. I hooked the probe up to the amp ground. I thought it was just the music at first but every single song clips at max undistorted volume which is 62 for me -

back with a problem again. I got frustrated and got rid of the eq and now I am still having the issue of the subs clipping. I set the gains exactly like the instructions said to and I am still having the same issue. my subs are getting stinky after about 10 minutes of full tilt. most likely Its something that I am doing wrong. Anyone got ideas what I should do? -

7 for the subs -
My equipment is 2 aq hdc3 d1 aq 2200d pioneer 80prs a cadence CEQ-773 eq I got my dd1 about 6 months ago and I tuned everything according to the manual that came with it and it sounded great but I wanted it louder. So today I re tuned the system with the dd1 and it is louder but now my subs are getting a little hot and the clipping indicator is on at half volume on the bass knob. And I know a lot of people say you cant trust them but so far its worked for me. I turned the gains all the way down on the eq when I did the dd1 and I had to turn the volume on the eq all the way up and the bass knob all the way up to get the signal to come on the dd1. And I proceeded and I could turn my gain all the way up and the distortion light never came on. I did everything the manual instructed but now when I play music the clipping light is comes on at half volume. any ideas what I did wrong?

Well I got my dd-1 in the mail to today. I tried to find the max volume on my head unit (80prs) and couldn't even get a signal. so I did it through the amp which concerned me because I do use an eq that has a line driver but I followed the rest of the instructions and I got everything where there is no distortion at full tilt. but I am still concerned on the head unit thing since I am using a line driver. any thoughts on this?

i wouldnt use one for a starting battery. if your just wanting it as an extra battery to run your system itd be fine because marine batteries are made to be ran all the way down and charged back up.
