Huh, I've had my head stuck in Visual Basic and when i check the forums while taking a break, i see this. I looked at when you started it and I just realized I have been coding for quite a while. lol. Nice rig Steve. I've been wanting to rebuild so bad. But the car audio has eaten my budget like crazy. Maybe i need a second job. I'm still using a q6600 quad core @ 2.4 and 2 9600's in SLI. But, really all i do is watch movies and browse the net, so it's does fine for that. All I really do is just add more hard drive space as needed. Since i rip my $5 walmart movies to full mpeg2 they use like 4-7 GB of space a piece. 500+movies and it goes quick. lol

That whole "you shoulda done this" thing is why I rescinded my statement about windows 8. Right after I clicked post I realized that what I meant, and what the o.p. read, may be two different things. That is the problem with the internet, If you just type stuff out like a normal conversation, it can be interpreted a whole different way. Inflection and tone of voice are hard to convey in a casual writing style. So really the problem isn't the internet. It's just guys like me who don't always convey their thoughts in a clear and precise manner. But I digest, can't wait to see some benchmarks, and maybe some custom fab work on the case?

what should i get, windows XP? new rig, new everything, new operating system. Plus i am hearing tons of great stuff about 8. i am a 7 guy but i can't go bass-ackwards on a PC build, ever. Well no, not XP. I'm sure win 8 is fine. It's just you know, it was designed for a tablet and from what i have seen it doesn't translate all that well it a desktop. Not looking to start a debate on win 8. Of course it's just an opinion and the only one that matters here is Chicken's since it's his rig. Plus, that rig looks like it will eat games for breakfast and take their lunch money while doing it! i heard that about it too. BUT, mostly its just haters finding a way to dislike something before they try it. (not talking about you, well, i guess i sorta am ) anyway, i believe there are apps you can add to it to make it feel more "normal", such as getting the start button back and things like that. This is a GAMING PC though bro, so all its for is finding the game icon, clicking it and playing. None of that other shit will matter. At least though, i will get to try it on his before i decide to update mine. I am extremely happy with 7 so no hurry. The gaming part is exactly why I am going to just drop what i said. After I posted it that I realized what i said and was like, yeah most games that get released in the next year or so are going to be optimized for win 8 anyway. So, might as well take the plunge and do it right! I hope you post some benchmarks after you get it finished. Wonder what the 3dmark score is going to be...

This is what i am planning on building, 2.0 cuft after displacement. 3X4" aeros tuned around 35hz with amp rack underneath. We will see if my skills match my imagination.

I showed your video to my friend at work, i explained to him how you were throwing 2500+ watts to a sub "rated" at 1700 and doing it free air. He understands a bit about how free air is bad for a speaker, so suffice it to say he was speechless. He was amazed at the amount of excursion this thing has, of course who wouldn't be. It's nice to have stuff like this for people who don't know your brand. Also, allergies suck right? I have a couple of questions, if you care to answer. 1. Did you lose much output from your front stage after getting everything set 2. Since you have no center channel speaker, Are you happy with your imaging as far as the lead singer goes? (hope that made sense)

Most the time they show up without refreshing, sometimes they don't. it's a bit random. I knew the rest already lol. I'm only talking about which ones get picked to be put on the list. Think about high traffic times when 30 or 40 topics might get updated every minute. The list doesn't update that fast from my experience.

That's kind of what i was thinking. I imagine if every single thread that got replied to was posted up you wouldn't be able to keep up with rate of new topics during high traffic.

I was just curious what the criteria is for a thread to move up and be displayed in the Recent Topics list. I've noticed that sometimes when i post in a thread it doesn't show up in the list. I think it's only threads that i have started, but it happens randomly with other threads too. Maybe the recent topics only updates so many theads/minute or something. If it's some closely guarded secret then just lock this. I'm just curious how it works.
