  1. awesome thanks. And yes i definitely should've used the search bar on that one. I just got a little lazy lol. thanks though man!
  2. ok cool. I will take the extra time to make the wall then. But everyone else told me the opposite that's why I was concerned. A lot of conflicting info lol. But thanks man! appreciate it.
  3. so you're saying a wall would be louder than subs up/port back as well?
  4. Just wandering if I can change my name. I used the login with facebook feature so its just my full name. Kind of sucks. thanks for the help!
  5. just play around with the torres calculator. its very simple.
  6. well like i stated, is it worth the extra time and money to wall it or is that just what you prefer? I'm going for complete spl. I want to move a lot of air for demos.
  7. also, the subs are up near the seats and the port is in the very back by the doors. any help is appreciated!
  8. What's up guys! Sorry for all of the posts lately but one last question. I built a box for a wall for my 2 hdc3 18s and it turns out that they will actually fit laying down with subs and port facing up. My question is, is there any benefit to building a wall and spending all the extra time and money for that? How much louder would a wall be, if even louder at all. I know subs up port back is the way to go but at this point I don't want to rebuild the box. Oh and it's in an 03 Tahoe with the second row seats still in. So the wall would be behind the bench seat. Thanks!
  9. ok that makes me feel better. I'm in Indiana so it's not too bad here but its going to be 95 this weekend and I plan on breaking them in this weekend so I was just worried about them getting too hot in the back. I'm actually gonna finish the install tomorrow. But I'll post a build log when it's all said and done.
  10. looks good to me. Should be about perfect for spl
  11. im at work now so im unable to look at the pictures on this computer. but what are the fans called that alpha posted?
  12. ok cool, i honestly don't think 4 will fit but 3 should do. where do i get fans like that? would newegg be my best bet? just get regular computer fans?
  13. that looks really nice. so I would put four on one side pushing air and four on the other side pulling air correct?
  14. ok, i would definitely use a battery to power it anyway. But everyone thinks I'll be ok with just fans back there, and not running a/c to the back? It will be completely sealed off.
  15. so you think it'll be ok to just leave it in there with no fan? or should I add fans? also, I am going to put 2% tint on the rear hatch so that should help some.
  16. I guess i will try to run the a/c back there but I'm honestly not sure how to do it or how it will turn out. The thing I'm worried about is during the summer it's already going to be hot in the back plus the heat the amp puts off. That's why I'm so worried about it.
  17. the amp will be running at one ohm. But I'd like to be sure it won't get too hot on 100 degree days. as far as the ac, at the time it doesn't work. going to recharge it asap. but that would mean taking out the whole headliner and running a tube to the back? I've never done any type of a/c work.
  18. Lol idk if I trust myself tapping into my ac. I thought about fans but how would I power them?
  19. What's up everybody? Ive got a 2003 Tahoe with two aq hdc3 18s walled behind the second row seat. Behind the box I am build a battery box and was planning to mount the amp on top. The amp is a brand new crescendo 3500. Question is, will it get too hot back there since there is no ventillation? It has room to breathe but nowhere for the hot air to go. And I'm not sure how warm these amps get. And there's really no where else for me to put the amp. Thanks!
  20. i would suggest battery terminals and wiring from knukonceptz. You honestly won't need an upgraded battery with the power you're running. the big 3 should be plenty.
  21. Thanks man I really am just trying to learn. Love the hospitality of this community. But I'm headed to lowes to get some wood later on and then it's wall time! As for the bolting down, the third row hooks are about 8" behind the box
  22. glad we're all on the same page. Not many forums like this now days. Actually working to help me out! Thanks alot everyone for all the input. You can really tell we're bassheads when I'm up at 4:30 am worryin about my box when I have work in the morning. lol
  23. exactly, that's why i think I'm going with the wall. That way i will have the full 12 cubes AQ recommends and the port will be able to breathe. also makes it easier to mount the amp since I can do it on the back now
