Protected an amp for the first time today. Note to self, don't short out a wrench against your amp casing

why you working on an amp while its on?... fuse should be pulled and no power going to the amp = no short no portect luckly you did not fry the amp

Long story short, fuse is right next to the amp, was installing fuse and socket slipped off the nut and handled nipped the casing while touching the nut still.

I always put the wires in and then install the fuse very last
