face everything forward completly sealed of from the rest of the trunk. this is one the most effective positions for a box in a trunker...i have also heard that u can also put the box all of the way back against the trunk opening but still fire everything forward. i have my subs and ports firing forward and my lows are insane...so whoever said you miss out on the low notes isnt correct.

i have seen a couple of people cut the spare tire will out of the trunk and fab up a steel frame to hold all of their batteries....but if u can just fit them in the trunk, then do that, it will be much less of a headache that way

every crx i have seen has usually had 2 subs...subs up, port back...its tried and true

i think you should take some time off of work, travel around the country and drop in on these "experts." sit them in your tahoe and rip them apart with a 30hz or so test tone at full tilt, just to shut them up...then post the vids all over youtube so the dumbasses can see what fools they look like on their coffee break. they may be book smart, yet im sure they have no real experience with auto sound systems, especially on your level. they dont wanna hear a "layman" talk, they are just looking for technical, dictionary type jargon bullshit.... we all got props for ya steve...if everyone who hated on your system could actually sit in it and heart it, im sure they would recant their moronic statements....

the way they base classes are stupid. they take your total cone area and then the fuse you are running an multiple it by 10 then add it to your cone area. ex: (2)10"=157in of cone area...i run a 50amp fuse (50*10=500) 500+157=657. yea...i think u can use a cap...but a fuse still has to be within 18" of the amp (the fuse partly determines what class your in)...maybe i will look into it.

thanks man...i was rolling the volume up during the run and it popped at like volume 20 (usually burp it at 26 out of 35). so i think im gonna try to set the volume on like 22-24 and hit the pause button, then hit play and just let it rip for like one second before the fuse pops....i know she can break a 144....i just gotta test with some fuses... oh, and the plaque will stay in the house...if it was a serious win and noteworthy then it might be a different story.

thanks! and i def. think it would have been louder with a bigger fuse. with my other ports in i was tuned at 28hz and did a 143.8@34hz in the kick and like a 142.XX at the headrest (which is where the mic placement is this year). i put new ports in tuned at 37hz and i peaked at 41...so i def. think i could have broke a 144 with a bigger fuse. i just gotta do some more fuse testing. i can only use a 50amp fuse or i will be bumped up a class.

ill get some up sometime...too lazy right now. me and my buddy switched to a smaller pulley on my alt (irragi 200amp) and that alone sounded louder to my ear anyway...electrical upgrades FTW

went to my first competition yesterday. there was only me and one other person in my class b/c people were unaware of some new fusing rules that MECA implemented this year, so there were like 20 cars in the class above me who got bumped up b/c of too big of a fuse. anyways, i took first place...out of 2, lol...i hit a 141.2@41hz. my score was still going up pretty quick but my fuse popped and that was all she wrote. im kinda anxious as to what i would have hit, had the fuse not popped. i gotta nice pretty little plaque...it was fun, i will probably do some more this year.
