  1. thanks for the vote!

  2. Just got this playing last night so there's still some tuning to do. I'll get a better vid soon.
  3. to be honest I didn't like the first song at all, but there two are legit
  4. thanks for the vote man!

  5. this was as far as i got with the power wire last night, i'll post more as it happens only took a couple pics of the box build, I actually built it a few months ago for my civic, but i've decided to go with 4 sa-8's now so we're using this box for the sti. I'll be wrapping the box in charcoal colored carpet to match his trunk liner
  6. I figured some of y'all might like to see this car. it belongs to a good friend of mine and I just started doing the install for him yesterday, still waiting on his head unit to come in so it should be done next week. equipment: pioneer avh-p4300dvd head unit kicker ix500.4 4 channel for mids n highs kicker Qs 6.5" components for front doors kicker ks 6.5" coax's for rear doors audioque aq1200d for subs 2 sundown sa-8's knukonceptz wiring sub enclosure - 1.08 cubes net tuned to 36hz on to the pics these components look pretty sick how hot it was in my shop when I got started the factory speakers in this car actually look pretty legit front components installed, sadly I had to mount them coax, due to the massive size of the kicker tweeter it wouldn't fit in the sail panel where the stock tweeter was. and he didn't want me cutting any holes to custom mount them. these crossovers are massive, they're almost as big as the 4 ch amp
  7. if you have the room these woofers sound much better in a larger box. i've never understood why mtx recommends such a small box. i have two in an 8.33cuft box tuned to 25hz, sounds great.
  8. That's a good head unit, Rockford made some bad ass hu's a few years back. I have a rfx9420, it was the top of the line unit the last year they made head units. if you can find one of those they are awsome. It has no internal amp since it's geared more for sq, but has 8 volt RCA outputs and a copper plated chassis. The face is black chrome with all blue illumination, it's looks sexy....
  9. Yea they are dual 4's, i liked those old 8000's back in the day they were pretty bad ass. I love these 9500's for daily subs, they will pound all day long and sq is great, they take the 1500's like a champ, barely get warm at all when really pushing 'em, but they are no Spl woofer that's for sure. I've never been able to get great #'s out of them. I've had this pair since '05 in 5 diff vehicles and boxes. And the nice thing about 'em is that no matter how you tune the box they will always pound the low notes. You can get much better woofers for less money though, only reason I bought these was because I got the pair for $400 back in '05 when they first came out.
  10. actualy it helps alot, lol. If I was going to keep the system in the car I would just epoxy the windows in the same way a windshield is done. Well I may do that anyway, not sure yet
  11. sure is, lol, the stock latches to open and close the windows could not keep the windows closed at all
  12. here are the first vids filmed on my iphone 3gs, i couldn't wait to use the video camera on it 1st is the flex vid, second is a walkaround of the car and system a little info on the car, it was just a quick throw together deal for a local sound off, but turned out pretty well. peaked at 148.5 @ 34hz, and street beated 145.7 playing the same song as in the first vid.
  13. thanks, have you personaly heard both? I've never heard either in person so I'm kind of blind here
  14. Ok first I don't want this to turn into a brand bashing, or this brand is better then that brand thread, so please don't take it there! I'm going to start a build soon in my '88 civic hatch, it will be a wall with (4) 12's or maybe 15's ran by an audioque aq3500d at 1/2 ohm. I'm debating between running the aq sdc2.5's or fi ssd's. At 1/2 ohm the amp should make well over 4000 watts, but with impedance rise and voltage drop I'm guessing it will be close to it's 1 ohm rated power of 3500 watts, or 875 per woofer. So my question is which woofer do you think will have the most output with that power, and be reliable for daily beating? The ssd's are rated for a little more power then the sdc2.5's, but are also a little more expensive. Thanks in advance for any input
  15. The % is for THD, Or distortion. Amps will make more power at higher distortion levels, but it not as clean. So basicly with proper gain setting the amp will make 1400 watts of clean power, if you set the gain a Lil higher it will make 1900 watts but with more distortion Also look into audioque for amps. They're 1200d is $249 and 2200d is $389
  16. I found all kinds of crazy chit when I worked at c city (r.i.p.). Guns, weed, money, porn, the occasional thong in a hot girls car (unfortionitly more often in fugly girls cars). But the one that sticks in my head was this. We had this couple that came in at least every 6 months with a new car, the guy worked in the oilfield making $$$. Anyway, the girl was stupid hot, and one day they came in for us to take all the equipment out of they're car before that traded it in, while pulling out the wiring behind the dash I open the glove box and find an envalope like the kind you get when you have photos developed. So I decide to look through 'em the first couple pics are of the girl just standing on a bed fully clothed, but with every pic I flip through a piece of clothing comes off, untill I get to the last few photos in which she is fully naked laying on the bed playing with some "toys", but that's not the best part of this story. A few months later I'm at a party with some friends and the same couple is there, so I go over to say whats up. While we're talking my friend luke comes up and gives the "toy girl" a hug, looks at me and says "hey how do you know my sister"!!!
  17. I haven't had Internet at home for over a year now, so I'm only able to get on here from my phone. Just wondering if anybody else browses the forum on they're phone, and if so has it been loading slower then usual lately?
  18. I say do it, I've always wanted one of those shaggin' waggons! It sounds like a pretty good deal, but the only down side to buyin a car/truck that's already been bagged is you don't know how good the work done to it is, most importantly the welding. I would still get it, and then have somebody who knows a Lil somethin about bagged vehicles give it a good inspection to find anything that needs fixing
  19. Sounds like your amp took a crap and sent a good 'ol DC voltage spike to your woofers, hopefully it didn't last long enuf to destroy those voice coils
  20. LOL, plannin on birch actually
