The CD5100 is a great HU and well worth the price, I just upgraded mine to the CD7200 MKII.

Single baffle for 4 18's, I hope it works but really looks good so far.

All I used in the 90's was PVC ports, works great just round off the ends with sand paper and a router for the face.

Thermostat more than likely needs replacing, when one goes out it will typically make the radiator overflow because of excess heat.

SAX-50.4 is a more versatile amp with its crossover options, at it's sale price now would be well worth the money.

Move the amp and see what happens, might not be enough air flow or vibration is tripping it into protect.

I am going to do the following and what would be my best option: Amps include: 6 - SAZ-3500's on 16v should be around 30k watts Have 2 XS 2400's under the hood and will power a SAX-100.4, SAX-50.4, SAX-125.2 Option 1: 3 - Alts on 16v and 1 - alt running 12v and running 10 D1600's Option 2: 4 - 16v Alts and running 2 stepdown modules and 8 D1600's Vehicle is more of a show piece than a daily driver, but does get driven once in a while other than going to shows. My only concern is having all 16v alts running stepdowns and something happening and the 16v frying my 12v electrical. Do I really need to have this concern running option #2? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mine all held the same charge from the front to the back, you should not have any problems running a smaller battery of the same brand up front.
