not to thread jack OP but while we are the subject, i was getting my ideas and numbers from that tut which seem to be ideal or overkill so i mean i see extreme builds with like 32+ batteries and i also see comparable builds power wise with a fourth of that, kinda confusing obvi the higher the voltage you can keep equals the better so the OP wants minimal batteries and to do that, you would need a beefy alt otherwise your looking at several batteries, now im confuzzled i wish there was a sticky about this... obvi my electrical knowlege is a bit under par?

AQ 2200D and 2 HD312's the subs are 250 each amp is 350 so roughly 850 that with def slam the lows oh sorry you said 15's well the 15's are 270 each so about 900 then.. but even better

lol idk saw it in one of those tuts i saw... lol like i said, correct me if im wrong, lol but um yea i used 80% efficency, 70 would be safer, idk what amp etc, but i thought its more like a rough guideline kinda thing.... and tht vid said to factor 40% of your alts power going to your car, therefore leaving 60% for bass and misc so im thinking if your car has a 105amp stock alt, 40% of 105 is 42amps leaving 63 left for use. now if you upgrade your alt to a 300 amp alt, your car car isnt going to suddenly use more electricty just because you bought a bigger alt. it should still ROUGHLY be that same 42 amps which would leave you with 258 amps left to use and lets just say at 13v because 14 is assuming almost no voltage drop. so 258*13= 3354watts to use.. and OP wants 4k rms and if that amp were 80% efficient, it would require 5000watts * 80% efficiency to make that 4k.. ill see if i can find that mike styers vid by all means though, show me the error in my ways never hurts to learn

if you get an absolutely monster alt then you could prolly keep it down to one extra battery so a 300amp alt + a kinteik 2400 if you really are looking for 4k rms and we'll say the amp is 80% efficient your electrical will need to be able to support 5000 watts (5000 * .80 = 4000) please correct me if im wrong so 300amp @ 13v = 3900 watts a 2400 is 123ah so 123 * 13 = 1600 so with that you could support 5500 watts total minus some because of course your car needs some of that power to run etc and this doesnt figure in any mid/highs, just the 4k for your subs this is just a rough outline, and again correct me if im wrong. also there is plenty of videos under the hifonics section with mike styers doing some tuts about stuff like this. hope this helps P4killer.

either hook up with hhr ed or what you should do is build your own stuff... even if you do it and it sucks, you could rebuild over ten times before you even approach the $800 he quoted you. two sheets of mdf is like 55 bux here plus another 20 bux for nails glue, misc materials i mean you could do it yourself and have fun and get better at building.. take some pictures some measurements and im sure people on here could help you out and by box number 3 (lol jk) youll be good and youll have done it yourself!

as long as all subs = working, not f'd up and the same for the enclosures, id do it i mean IT IS 4 12's and two boxes, and it is mtx not pyle its a solid buy i think what you should do is tell em 80 (lol i like even numbers better) just say you only got 4 20's or something at 80 bux its 10 per sub and 20 per enclosure which by any standard is a good deal. IMO

youd be surprised how a lil bass goes a long way you dont have to spend $$$$ to get decent bass.

first off upgrading yoour vid card in the lappy more often than not equals fail.. i could be wrong but really the only exapndable upgradable gpu for lappys was an older nvidia mmx something or other that you could just change out the Gpu on a daughter board. More mem always = better up to about 3-4Gb on xp 8 for vista unless your running 64 bit xp then you could use more but really 3-4 gig should be overkill in most applications. one of the biggest upgrades you can do for a lappy is change the HDD usually they come with a 5400rpm Hard drive or lower... it might be a expensive, and i think they make them, but 7200rpm drives or even SSD drives will show a nice increase in overall performance. if you have a discrete graphics expansion slot likely pci-e you could change your gpu but its always touchy with lappys as you only have so much power to supply the rig you can even possibly change out the CPU to a faster one but like i said the coolers are proprietary usually and again power is an issue usually you can really only upgrade be a few hundred Mhz at most so going from a 2.0 dual core to a 2.2 dual core... idk its worth the 200bux or w/e as far as your screen just try to find the same model on ebay thats your best bet by far and simply swap out sending it in will be $$$$ so much so that you could just sell it on ebay and buy a new one from the store. good luck either way P4Killer.

yea tools are always good to have, just build up your collection over time ya know:p but cutting out the speaker holes with anything other than a router = annoying but it can be done. with patience and practice. walmart has a jigsaw which is your next best bet for 20 or 30 the $20 one is a single speed but if you can afford the extra ten its well worth it the $30 one has variable speed so you cut a lil slower when making precise cuts, and supposedly, you can buy a cricle cutting thing for it that helps you cut perfect circles with your jig. I own the $30 and its sweet.. also having home depot cut your wood is ok... but they have f'd my cuts up once outta of four times, so.. if you really cant get a circular saw, you could have them cut it. make sure you tell them you have a bunch of cuts to make, account for the width of the saw blade please etc etc they cut it, MAKE YOUR SURE YOU MEASURE AFTER THEY CUT IT TO MAKE SURE ITS RIGHT if its right, good to go if not, park it somewhere in the corner of the store or something and leave good luck P4Killer
