A Suburban A Warhorse and a pair of Double Dees

Recommended Posts

Small signs of progress. I updated the battery rack CAD a bit. I think this is going to work better than what I had before.

Here is a shot from the top. I added the battery hold downs, and detailed the whole assembly with some hardware.

From the bottom looking up.

Here is a shot of the hanger from the bottom up. You can see some of the hardware I'll be using.

One last one of the hanger from the top down.

Now some progress in the real world. This one is me testing the strength of the angle irons that I'll be using.

The rack coming together.

This is how I handled the corners.

I tacked them together, I'll have a friend with a bigger welder finish them off. Plus he's a better welder than me. o_o

why didn't you just ran the wire through first one, and only use bolt on outside like now?

I just figured I would make it easier to switch out woofers this way. I won't have to deal with cutting and splicing wires together.

i was thinking the same thing - you could just take the wires off the sub.....but you have DD's so you dont have terminals on the subs, just 8ga wire....makes more sense if people know that. B)

Thanks, I just hope this rack comes out as good in person as it did in CAD. :)

Coming along nicely bro! How good are those alts? I've never heard of them...is the price and quality good? I like the way you dealt with the direct leads on the DDs and wiring the box...very creative. You might consider heatshrinking/looming the pairs together, just an idea. Cant wait to see your batt rack done...looks very well designed. Keep us updated with more pics!
