OldsBoomer
I have to agree that any dog can be mean as shit but its how you raise them. I've known and loved rotty's they are very kind dogs, lovers for sure. I grew up with a doverman and that dig was the shit i would crawl on him and chewy on his ear(so i was told) and he never did a damn thing to me. My mom was walking him one day and dog came up to my mom growling and baring its teeth and my dog who is not mean at all went off on this dog and saved my mom's life. You raise then properly from the age of a puppy and you'll be good to go. Unless of course them become physically ill and dont know what they are doing. I was bit in the face as a baby by sister's dog because she became ill and snapped. Suburban Coming Soon
ghost28
I have a MINIWEILER...... He is a Rotti mixed with a Daschaund (hot dog) 30lbs of awsomeness.....i will tell you that he has a great temperment....My guy was a rescue that was abused as a pup so he can be shy around new people and kids but once he gets used to them he opens up.....loves to play ball, swim, go for car rides (hates bass)......super smart given the fact that when i got him he was 1-1/2 yrs old and didnt know a single command...within 3 months he knows sit, lay down, stay, stand (on hind legs), spin (on hind legs), stays with distance of about 100ft then gets scared that we are gonna leave him and comes running, i can put food in front of him and tell him dont touch and he will leave it until i say go ahead, knows to drop his ball at the door when we are done playing outside because he cant bring a dirty ball in the house, completely housebroken and for the occasion that we are gone for a long time or he feels a serious need to he will go #2 is a certain spot in my basement which i dont yell at him for it because at least he is smart enough no to go on my carpet or wood floors....in the year i have had him he has only used the EMERGENCY #2 spot about 3 times..... My uncle had a rotti up until about 3 years ago that was basically the same as my dog as far as temperment only he was 130lbs....LOL.....SATAN was his name and he was a bib big MUSH..... i am a firm believer in that its not the dog its how you raise and train them...my brother has a pitbull and everyone is scared of her meanwhile she is a puppydog....wouldnt hurt a fly.....i am sure there are other rotti owners that will chime in here.....i say go for it...... meade916
a few more you dont want to come in my back yard at 2am, you will get mauled......Rocky does NOT play. BUT, if he senses you are a friend (if you come by) you will get licked to death.....and he is VERY good around our other, smaller pets. We have a tea cup chihuahua that got here the same time he did, and a white chihuahua we rescue'd recently. He (lucky) and Rock are best friends and inseperable. Look at the way they chill on a DAILY basis Rock is also good with our cat.....pays her no mind at all other then being playful. Tek
Its all in the owner and there's nothing else to it. I will always question the truth to that. My sister has owned a Chinese Shar Pei since it was under a week old and has treated it like it was her son since the day she got it. I have never in my life seen somebody treat a dog as good as her as a matter of fact. If he took a fat shit on her pillow after she had a long day at work, she wouldn't even do a thing about it. However, he is now 11 years old and has several incidents under his belt. Lets face it, there are some dogs that are simply violent breeds. BulletInjection
It is all about how you train them, I would like a rot or a red nose pitbull. And actually Poodles, dalmatians, and chows are some of the meanest dogs but they never picked up a bad rap... unfortunately, poodles are so ugly lol My build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...8920&st=100 http://www.youtube.com/Bulletinjection

Did the dog have ANY discipline, or did the dog "walk all over her" like your sister was in the dogs house? My brother was "raised" just like i was and he is an animal now who has spent all his life in prison and cant get his act together to save his own ass....so i guess a dog can have a screw loose no matter what kind it is. In fact dont put your hand to close to either one of my chihuaua's or you will get bit (if they dont know you). And they are both spoiled rotten.
