ok i have this lap top im going to use to do word prosesing and up load pics to when im on the road. It has every thing but a hard drive. I gave the hard drive to my friend to have it reformatted and it disappeared. So I need to get a hard drive thats formated cheap and ready to go. I have no idea what fits tho. here the info on the bottom of the laptop

sry to go off topic a lil but i was wondering if i bought a HDD for my laptop and threw in the gateway recovery cd i have would that work? I dont have a copy of XP because its allways came on my computers and i really dont want to get vista

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer

It wouldnt see the hard drive at all what so ever. If I removed the lap top hard drive it would boot fine. when I reconnected it it booted like I had 2 hard drives with the jumpers set wrong. I tryed putting in the windows xp cd and it said it couldnt locate the hard drive aswell.

yes the recovery CD will work the same as the windows cd just takes a long time.

as for big p looks like the laptops having some other problems if its not seeing the HD, because formatted or not it should see that somethings there

I need a new hard drive. I cant find any thing on ebay. Can some one show me some options please.
