David711 Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I just got a picture of a 07 silverado and the volts say 19 and he went to test it and its running 19 volts with absolutely no step downs or anything. I thought a cars electrical system would fry?.. I'm stumped on how its holding up for 2 weeks like this "WHOEVER SAID MONEY CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS MUST OF BEEN BROKE"

Then its something like the regulator... If the regulator did mess up which was my first thought wouldn't all the electrical mess up? I wanted to do my amps at 18 but was told about step down modules. He said it drops when you drive and stays 19 when idle. I was just under the impression that all cars can't go past like 16 volts or close to it "WHOEVER SAID MONEY CAN'T BUY HAPPINESS MUST OF BEEN BROKE"

EclipseChris Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 This is funny. I actually did a voltage regulator today. The car was acting like this, but opposite. When the car i worked on charged at 12v at idle and at 15 with the engine revving. Its a voltage regulator problem bottom line. i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P.
