speedball1978 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 before i decide on my final port choices, just wanted to make sure i'm using the right numbers, if i go with round ports i use 9 to 12 sq in, rectangle port 12 to 16 sq in... correct?

fecupe2001 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 That´s simply a general idea of port area, doesn´t mean you need to do that exactly , besides that, Port area also depends on the XMAX, just saying I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. AMI CUSTOMS Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I would lean more toward the larger number for each then 16 per for slot port and 12 for round. J.Reed Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Really depends what it is going to be used for too. You going for just numbers or do you want a daily pounder? I'm running 14sq.in In my navi for a musical build on xl 15s. Nice and musical and doing over a 153 non walled on one AQ3500d. If your going straight for numbers larger (even bigger then 16 possibly) would be the way to go for sure but bandwidth will suffer. Also depends on the vehicle, enclosure volume, desired tuning..... The list goes on and on. You got a loaded question for sure and not near enough info to give you a truly GOOD answer.
