REaudioBuff
Ok so this box by my calculations after doing the sub displacement and the 45 degree angles will be almost exactly 4.0cubes tuned @ 30hz. My question is with that size of a box on either a DC 2k or 3.5k would it be able to handle playing those 25hz notes thanks Sub is a 15'' just to make sure you saw lol. And the max dimensions will be 37x22x18 as far as the box goes. So if this isn't right then let me know bigger smaller Edited February 18, 2011 by REaudioBuff Quote 1 Crossfire XS v2 15" 2 Deka group31a's 1 XS Power D3400 (under hood) 1 Addictive Audio 500.1 1 Rockford 3sixty.2 4 Crescendo pwx 6.5s 2 Pyle Pro Super tweets 1 Crescendo 1000c4 Kenwood excelon x494 Head unit Big Three upgrade All 0 gauge of course 1 4.56c^ft box @28hz (New Best official db score= 151.2 @ 36hz)
CJ18
3.5ft3 after displacements is the sweet spot for the XL 15.
REaudioBuff
even if I'm wanting to tune it around 30hz like that? CJ18
Yep the airspace stays the same just have to adjust the size and length of the port to get the tuning you want. I would go with 17in2 of port per ft3, so 60in2 of port.
Cashdollar2009
I'm running mine in 3 cubes now at 32Hz. She loves 30-45Hz. When I was in 3.5 cubes I tended to unload a bit easier at 30Hz still. This is running on my Crescendo 3k on a rated 3.3k. From reading on various forums it seems a lot of the 15XL crowd seems to have the most luck at 3 cubes as well when running a ballpark 3k and above. corona_jeff
3.5ft3 after displacements is the sweet spot for the XL 15. I disagree. I have tried 3.25 per and 3 cu ea. I personally like the 3 cu ea the best.
REaudioBuff
ok so I have been looking around and I might end up with a IA 40.1 amp... I know thats a bit much power for 1 15''xl but i am good on the gains and all. What size box and tuning would be suggested off that kinda power? The box will have 45s and resin in it too. CJ18
If you still have the RF 2500.1s in your sig I would run those and put a deposit down on a 3.5k and wait for them to come in.
REaudioBuff
I do not... I already sold them I got a good amount of money off those amps If i had those i would have no problem powering whatever i got lol. Believe me when I say I want a DC amp but damn I don't wanna wait that long and have this sub just sittin here. Only amp I have right now is a shitty old Lightening Audio 400.2 thats running my front stage cause I sold everything but the subs already... CJ18
Here is an idea for you until the DC amps are available. http://www.caraudiodeals.com/planet-audio-bb24001-p-2770.html I have tested these amps to do rated power.
