Sammitch0
It's for an 18" PSI running off 1500RMS (underpowered sub can take upwards of 2kw) I had a 35 & 40hz @ 5 & 5.5cft and it was really loud but didn't hit the lows at all. I've been playing around a lot and taking suggestions and I think I have my box. I'm aiming for 32-33hz @ 5-6cft with around 14-16 inches per cft of port. Going in a Jeep going for good lows. hdorre
The sub is custom, so its extremely hard to give a definite answer. I would tune to 33hz. iirc bigger ports allow you to play more under the box's tuning frequency. Sammitch0
This is 33hz if I recall right? dude my port is 14in if I go any higher my freq will rise too much, this is about the best I could get it for my 6cft. AI James
should have just bought 2 12s for the space you have, rather then cram the 18 in to small of box for what your working with and want to achieve
Sammitch0
Small box?! lmao... dude I have like 10cft to play with easy. My box calls for 5cft since I'm underpowering and looking for lows I made it 6cft, how the hell is that small? this isnt an SMD 18 my dude. most 18's BTL's for ex require 6-8cft this subwoofer doesnt even call for that. and maybe you could put some input in instead of your "words of wisdom" you could have said "go bigger." instead of all that bs. speedball1978
bigger box = less power required.. smaller box = more power required...so if you're going to under power the sub, make the box bigger...

Sammitch0
I'm not underpowering it forever, soon its going to get 2kwrms I'm running close to rated... im not running THAT much under, so I dont want to go that much over 5cft. James I like how you edit posts just to sound like a bigger jackass. and speedball yes I know this hence why my box is only 6cft. I'm running 1500RMS to a sub thats rated for 1600 (will do more though for a fact.) so Im not really underpowering it I suppose.
