mbdblue Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Why exactly are you going to 45 the sealed chambers? ah neo! I was gonna PM you to hear your opinion about this box...pretty much the 45s would just be for space reduction and an easier way to put the whole box together. I was gonna build it outside the car, then dis-assemble and reassemble inside the car, using the 45s to put the sides and base together. matt402 Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 u might not need that 4kw for comps. bandpasses are usually a bit more efficient than ported boxes.
mbdblue Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 u might not need that 4kw for comps. bandpasses are usually a bit more efficient than ported boxes. haha I may not, but unfortunately, I get forced into a higher class because of the vehicle (my seats don't fold down so they had to come out. I usually am placed in SSNW.) So that was my motivation to build bigger and more powerful. If I gotta be put in a class with people running 10k+ I wanted to be able to keep up with them most likely I won't have the cash for 2 more amps and batts at the beginning of the season anyway AA-Atomic-Clif Designs-DC-Diamond-Digital Designs-Directed-Eclipse-Fi-Hertz-Hifonics-Kenwood-Memphis-Phoenix Gold-Pioneer-PPI-PSi-Stinger-Sundown-TC Sounds-Viper-Zapco

mbdblue Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 reviving this thread for another question....If I did this same idea with 1 15", would the airspace (2:1 or 2.5:1) ratio change? seems like it shouldnt change all that much...also should the port area be modified? reason I ask is cuz I miss my 15....I really do. 2 12s is just too ordinary for my size car. a 15 in a bandpass seems a little more brutal, even though the 12s would be able to do the job...Im fading more and more away from the idea of competing. Id rather put in what I want and if it does well on the meter, then so be it. as long as it gets louder than my last build, Ill be happy AA-Atomic-Clif Designs-DC-Diamond-Digital Designs-Directed-Eclipse-Fi-Hertz-Hifonics-Kenwood-Memphis-Phoenix Gold-Pioneer-PPI-PSi-Stinger-Sundown-TC Sounds-Viper-Zapco
