Bmike
I been reading alot of topics about oscopes, seems that some scopes cant handle the reading that some of the bigger amps put out,so my question is how do we compare oscopes to amp output to decide wich one would be needed, i have a saz 3500 and i also would like to know if this would handle the job http://www.vellemanusa.com/us/enu/product/view/?id=525377 thanks ahead of time for any knowledge 2007 trailblazer lthead unit- pioneer p4300dvd crescendo ft-1 supertweeters pioneer m650 pros audiocontrol 2xs crossover Rockford fosgate p200-2 highsrockford fosgate p400-2 mids1- fi btl 18amps- saz 3500battery- evermax in front, 2 9a31 dekas in rearwires all knuconceptz 1/0 and rcas
Boon
To be on the safe side... work out the AC RMS voltage the amp will put out (e.g. 60vacrms for 3600w @ 1 ohm) then double it for DC input voltage handling. That little scope: "Max. 100Vp AC+DC" Meaning 100v peak-peak AC or 100vdc - a heavily clipped signal from a 3500 will swing that much, I think, and mess up your scope. IIRC the 3000D had like 140v rail-rail so the 3500 would have a fair bit more. 10.x volts fo' life!

bumonskateboard6
My TPI-440 Manual says the over load protection is at 600v DC or Peak AC, so if I understand Boon correctly that means it should be fine for pretty much any amp you're planning on throwing at it. Low voltage doesn't blow amps. That's a myth. A router that does the sub holes makes rounded edges also?
