jagblazer01 Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 are you talking about the original 16-MCD4kw? If so, I have owned one and it really wasnt that great. I had 2 Kinetik 2400s hooked to it and it still fried twice. First time, the power supply went when all I did was add an addtional ground to the batteries. Second time, I was driving down the road listening to the radio at volume 10. Subs went out, sent it back in for repair and found out that the outputs went on it. Got it back from repair and sold it. Went to a Sundown 3000 and have been running Sundown ever since. FaTbOy911 Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 ya its worked for ame and a couple of freinds and yes u have to feeed it pretty good lol but it holds a bit with 2 good batts i had the 2.5k one and with 3 optimas never went hot on me at all there nice but with the msrp price u can get soemthing better tahnk god i have better prices lol.with 2 12s 1 stinger batery think it was the 2150 and 0 gauge wiring we hit 149.4 to 149.9 the most we ever hit Had an estimate of 6400 for an alpine/clarion setup dealer said it "should" hit around 160db with the custom boxes he was going to make for me..doubtful with so much area to move but, budget is way below that any ideas on cheaper brands for that kind of Spl setup? really didnt want to try any Boss or soundstorm, thinking Quantum figure around $150 per speaker "$1800 total" and $1700 to power it, first actual big setup for the van. The mcd is alright, better amps for the money, the mc1 depends on what you are wanting to do with it, the mc1 won't ever do above rated.
