kandiman71874
The frame on the 4wd and the 2wd up front are totally different. I was wanting to do this as well but you truely need the 4wd frame or the front end of the 4wd wont fit. Remember, David isn't afraid of cutting and welding.Of which he will have to do on the oil pan as well i am betting like one i helped with some years ago that was a 4x4 with a small block chevy in it. Just seems like ALOT of work not worth the time when you could buy and older 4x4 S10 that doesn't run and fix it up. Suburban Coming Soon

captainhook426
You could always to a frame swap too, as long as the other frame is straight. The body should bolt back up all the same... David
Yeah no need for that, that would actually be more work as the 4x4 s10 has ifs and I am going with a straight axle

lifted_silverado
Check out fabtech lifts the do crossover kits for solid axel conversions. Hope you have decent welding skills. This will def. Have bad ride quality if its not perfect. Youre gonna have to weld eyes to the frame for leaf springs. As well as fabricate a way for the T-case for a front driveshaft. Youre really gonna need a good size engine to roll dana 44s and 38s. Everythings in the attic or garage since the truck was sold last year. New build should be coming soon in a dodge cummins
