OrionStang
I'm trying to figure out how to do it. I was thinking sub up, port back, but the sub will be very close to the trunk. Then I thought sub/port forward sealed off, but some fabrication would need to be done for the sub to fit. Whatever I end up doing, it will be assembled in the trunk and I have experience with that. Throw some ideas my way please. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
kingsuv
Single 15 you should have room to wedge it forward with a port. I know with a little trimming 2 - 12's will slide in from the front. I did one a few years back. Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
OrionStang
I want to try it, just nervous about trimming metal. The height is only ~11.5" where the seats fold down, so it would have to be cut. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
bcpballer64
My vote for volume would be sub port forward sealed off. You could do sub back port back (idk if mustangs have the height tho). or sub up port back. OrionStang
I just went and did some measuring. Although sub/port forward would be loudest, I would have to cut ALOT. Ain't gonna happen. But I can do either sub/port back or subup port back if I build a low, long box. I'm working some numbers/designs now. Blue
In my maxima I had good results with sub firing passenger side port back. Quote formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. bcpballer64
imo prolly have more space for the waves to develop sub/port back. and the back wall is prolly gonna flex a lot less than the trunk lid lol. The following design is for sub/port back. And leaves 6 inches between the port and back wall. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
bcpballer64
how much room would you have if you went sub up port back? god mustang trunks are tiny lol Quote "The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- (Thomas Jefferson)
OrionStang
I'm working on it. It would be a little different, the box would be 16" deep, then step up 5" and go x" deeper. Overall height will only be 11-12 inches to give the sub plenty of space between itself and the trunk. Still 34" wide.
