Lbox88
Been looking at amps, don't have too big a budget to run on for a while. So far, I've been looking at: PLANET AUDIO RXD2400 with 0 Gauge Kit or Hifonics Brutus BRZ2400.1D Opinions welcome, only looking to spend about $350. Kevin M
I would go with the maxxsonics amp. (Hifonics) I think with that you will have a more durable amplifier. 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle
Lbox88
Was kinda my thought too. If I had a bit more, I know of a sweet deal on an awesome amp, just don't wanna spend the extra $150 lol. UBL | Build Log
Lbox88
FINALLY basically finished with the other box. Been so hot here I've had no drive to work on it much after a 10 hour work day in a shop. Here's some pics with different views on the sub, since the box is identical and I didn't feel more pics of it were really necessary. LOTS of screws You can kinda see the voice coil through the screen UBL | Build Log

Lbox88
I tried, but for every design I tried ended up being too big to slide into the trunk. The smallest I think was something like 16 tall by 30 wide and 28 deep but it would only go about halfway into the trunk before getting stuck. That's if I did sub/port forward though. If I did something like sub up port forward, I would try 14.5*30*28 with port being 4*13 and 18 long, I would get 4.6 cubes net @ 34.25 Hz with 52 in^2 of port with at 11.30 in^2 per cube. There is a link on the last page to where I was trying to get help on building a box, but not many came to help out. UBL | Build Log
Lbox88
Oh, and looking around, HHR Ed told someone over on CACO that 3.5 cubes in the range of 33-38 Hz would be perfect for 2 of these. In other words, since only one guy gave me any real help, that everything I built was wrong and too damn big and I will end up re-doing this when I get time. My work is picking up and I will most likely be traveling for the next two and a half months. As of right now though, I'm thinking that a box 14*32*23 with a 12.5*4 port at 26" long to give me 3.45 net cubes tuned to 33.96Hz with 50 in^2 of port area for 14.49 in^2 per foot. lem43606
Which is why you build the box in your trunk my friend! did you brace the top baffle at all? Looks like you might have some flex issues there 2 Fi BTL N2 18s Fully LoadedSundown Audio NS-1Kenwood 845 HU Clarion EQ4 Juicebox 3100sKnu Wire"Big 3"Mechman 270a156.3dBTeam GG.
