Kevin M Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 That is the same place I have my groud attached (Strut tower). You ground the alternator with the mount bolt? 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle
Lbox88 Posted September 30, 2011 Author Report Posted September 30, 2011 Yeah, there's 3 bolts that hold it on and i used the one that sits next to the firewall but not the one that has the wire harness holder on it. UBL | Build Log

Lbox88 Posted October 2, 2011 Author Report Posted October 2, 2011 Got some pictures here for you guys, video's will be coming later when I can edit them into one or two and clean them up a bit. Battery Connections Alternator Positive now recrimped on both ends with the harbor freight hydraulic crimper @ScottishBear: This is where I put my engine block ground. I figured since the alternator bolts directly onto a bracket to the block and I was measuring my 14.4V from this bracket to alt+, I chose there. Grommet for 1/0 coming in through the firewall New gear in! And working now! Bad-ass crimper I mentioned And a cheap(er) smart charger I got. At first I tried to get a Schumacher charger and it tried to charge my batteries at 15.5V!!! Needless to say that bish went STRAIGHT back and I got this one for $12 more. More to come later tonight! Lbox88 Posted October 3, 2011 Author Report Posted October 3, 2011 I also have a volt meter coming in the mail from Sonicelctronix.com. Cant beat it for $13 after shipping UBL | Build Log
Lbox88 Posted October 6, 2011 Author Report Posted October 6, 2011 Had to put a switch on the VM. I would not suggest this meter just because the refresh rate on the readings is suuuper fast. I will get a video of it the next time I have a chance, but I was dropping from 14.5V on the highway to about 13.8ish, but I'm not sure since it changes so fast. Just pay the money to get a Stinger.
