A tribute to my grandfather's skills (lots of pics)

Recommended Posts

Last wednesday we got a call that my grandfather had taken a bad turn in the hospital and was "on his way out". we got on the next flight out but sadly he passed before we could even leave for the airport. we are in Nebraska cleaning out his house now and with all the beginner wood workers here I thought you would all like to see what he spent his life doing. I hope you all enjoy the pics. saving the best for last.

on every light socket, switch, knob, etc.

on every corner

every door knob

the top trim, just under the table top is a hidden compartment. he did that a lot.

the crazy part is, none of the colors on anything are paint. its all different kinds of wood or stain and somehow he got those crazy designs when he glued it all together. the last pics of the bowls, the bottom left one, just blows me away.
