The website says that the 0 gauge can handle a max of 250A, but are they just being conservative so they aren't held liable when somebody burns their car down? If so, how many amps would you trust using the wire for?

Doesn't their site say 250 for the KCA kable and 300+ for fleks?

The cheaper KCA cable is rated for less current while the FLEKS is a higher quality wire is rated for OVER 300amps.

Your obiously asking about the FLEKS cable but looking at the KCA cable. 2 different types of wire!!!

sorry if I mixed it up. I am asking about the one that is rated for 250A.

one is Copper Clad Aluminum (90% aluminum, 10% copper, higher resistance hence the lower power rating) and the other is OFC (oxygen free copper)

I think once you click on it too it says 370 amps over 20 feet iirc

I jumped from the OFC to the CCA. It all depends on your application. I used to have three runs of Hyperflex OFC with 800 amps of possible current draw. Now I have a single amp that could possibly pull 1000 amps if some crazy nonsense happens, but I ditched the OFC and went with 4 runs of + and 4 of - CCA wire.

It was more cost effective and plenty safe, so why not?

I have both of them in all different gauges and id say that most applications only need the KCA unless your doing something crazy..
