.Masta X
Alright so ill post links to what i got and maybe that will give you a better picture of what im runnin I got 2 12s planet audio here they are : http://www.planetaudiousa.com/main/606 and new amp : http://cgi.ebay.com/PLANET-AUDIO-AP3000D-3000w-MONO-CAR-AMPLIFIER-WIRE-KIT-/300516277033?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item45f82a7b29 So i wired my subs like this: http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_4-ohm_mono.jpg Sub 1.. - and + together Sub 2.. - and + together Sub 1 - connected to Sub 2 - Sub 1 + connected to sub 2 + then - and + from both subs goin into my amp.. thats 4 ohm.. at least thats what i know as far ok so i know both my subs got 1200 watts rms together at 4 ohms and my amp got 1000 watts at 4 ohms. should i wire em at 2 ohm since my amp got 1600 watts at 2 ohm. i dont know im so confused at this point. So i wired everything at 4 ohm like i showed above. and everything worked fine man.. i was bumpin for 3 hours ridin around and next thing you know.. i notice that my subs keep skippin beats.. like the song hits and my subs stopp workin for half a second then they start hitting again.. so i thought maybe lose wire? not sure.. but then another hour later my subs kept doin that.. i wasnt even pushin my subs that high and smoke started to come.. i realized it was coming from my amp cause i pulled over and saw all the smoke comin from under my seat so i figured it wasnt from my subs. so i just took the power out and next day, i put my 12v back in and my subs worked fine no problem. then they started to smell so i didnt want my shit to smoke again so i turned my amp off. later that day i put my 12v back in and my amp would be at a stand by- power? like my amp turns on and then kept turning off.. or like it was restarting? turns on then off.. on then off. and my subs moved like a human lung? thats weird to describe it but thats what it looked like. looked like my subs were breathing and not hitting.. i think cause my amp wouldnt stay on and it kept flashing P.S - today i looked inside my port and saw one of the screws was inside my port.. like it fell from one of the coils from my sub.. maybe that could also be why? like one the sub wires got loose or somethin cause i saw one of the screws in my port today and i knew what it was but i had everyhin pretty tight but i dont know.. maybe its one of the screws that didnt have wires in it but yea i found it in the box thought maybe this could be why too if it was one of the wires that fell but now i really dont know what to do.. i know my sub aint blown so what could be the prolem? please help.. thanks in advance!! greatly appreciated Edited March 6, 2011 by .Masta X
cqtama
sounds like your amp is going into protect. it only does all this stuff when your moving right? could be a loose wire maybe you messed up your wiring and its a .5 ohm instead of 4. you also said you saw a screw in your port? take your subs out and find out where that came from. how did you set your gains? could be clipping everything and your just lucky o have a protect circuit stopping you from blowing it up. you said your amp was smoking? is it warm to the touch? if you messed up your wiring you could be running to low of an ohm load heating your amp up sending it into thermal protect. theres a lot of possibilities here. is it possible for any of your amps/ box/ batteries anything to move around? How do u wire at 4 ohms? just to make sure. thanks! @fmedina: ya ima check my ground and get another source cause im not too satisfied with my current ground but thanks bro hope ill figure something Edited March 6, 2011 by .Masta X

.Masta X
Ya man! i got a quick question.. since i got a ported box theres no way to connect both subs together inside the box.. well i dont wanna drill a whole across my ports to connect my subs so what i did was get - and + from on sub and connect it to the other sub from outside the box, so in this pic you see a - and + coming from my right sub and they connect to my left sub. then i got another wire and combined 2 wires for - to go into my amp and same for +.. hope i didnt confuse you but yea i mean its - to - from both sub then + to + from other sub so that sounds correct. and of course inside the box i got sub1 - and + together and same for other sub. so thats 4ohm. just didnt know if the way i did it was right.. take a look. i mean for the way i got both subs to connect together. http://img29.imageshack.us/f/0306011745.jpg/ http://img845.imageshack.us/f/0306011802.jpg/
