I cannot comment on MECA thru out the country.......this is nothing more than shows that I run here in NorCal. (I am on a laptop and type like crap on here so bear with me) I would love somefeedback on how we cando things differently,better, or moreexciting to get more people involvedor keep competitors competing. Call me or my judges a-holes.....calls us idiots. We can take it. I respectfully ask you do those things in private by pm's though......I can dish it out with the best of them ya know. Seriously though, if you want to "slam" me/them, lets keep it in private.....to start at least. Basically.......what is going to get these shows more involved, more fun, a reason tio get you uys to come out? Remember, we do this for YOU....profit is typically non existant, black would be cool though but only if it is good for you guys. let's hear some feedbback! I'm a trophy whore. I like big trophies, and that is what I go for. Even though I was fortunate enough to do as well as I did this last year, I'm still a noob, and I am still in that "hungry for the win" mode. I know that the veterans don't give a crap about cluttering their rooms with hardware, but they did care in the early stages, which I am in now. What I like about DbDrag, (well Sonic FX) is the awards. Nice trophies for all that want them, or just the gold placard for their wall plaque, for those who choose to go that route. I really enjoy Meca, and the people that I am proud to call friends have all shifted that way, but when I'm trying to build a strong portfolio to show my accomplishments that I have achieved early in the game, nothing substantiates your wins like a room full of tall, shiny red, blue, and gold. And silver, and chrome. And EVERYBODY,seems to feel that you did better, by the size of the trophy. Literally, most everybody that looks at my collection says, wow, what were these for? pointing at the tallest ones. I know this won't change anything, and it probably doesn't matter, but you asked, so I'm just giving my thoughts. skittlesRgood Posted April 17, 2011 Report Share Posted April 17, 2011 gary, i like the big trophies too but because meca doesnt do them, the shows cost a hell of a lot less to throw. so they dont have to charge the shop as much and more shops are willing to do a show. its pretty obvious this has worked out because there have been a LOT more meca shows than dbdrag ones. so for me, its a good trade off. i would love big trophies, but i would rather have more shows. and the large stack of medals i have hanging on one of my trophies seems pretty impressive to me.but dont worry, you will run out of room soon enough and wont want them anymore no matter what you do, some people will like it and some people wont. sadly we cant have it all If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. Great idea. But heres the trick, being we are all from different areas we all need to help do some promoting in our areas. Like maybe the Bay show coming up ;) Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more.
