Basically looking for feedback on the shows here in CA. I cannot comment on MECA thru out the country.......this is nothing more than shows that I run here in NorCal. (I am on a laptop and type like crap on here so bear with me)

I would love somefeedback on how we cando things differently, better, or moreexciting to get more people involvedor keep competitors competing. Call me or my judges a-holes.....calls us idiots. We can take it. I respectfully ask you do those things in private by pm's though......I can dish it out with the best of them ya know. 8) Seriously though, if you want to "slam" me/them, lets keep it in private.....to start at least. Basically.......what is going to get these shows more involved, more fun, a reason tio get you uys to come out? Remember, we do this for YOU....profit is typically non existant, black would be cool though but only if it is good for you guys.

let's hear some feedbback! :woot:

Its hard to say, because Meca is still in early stages here in Cali. It would be nice if the teams would host events. Team Bassick, Team Flex Issues and Team BFD allows 3 oppurtunities to host events. Ray as a shop seems willing to host events as well. In general, I would just like more shows, but I understand that this is the difficult part. This is why we as teams need to step up and assist Meca by obtaining venues and sponsors for shows. The old adage is true, ask not what Meca can do for us, but what can we do for meca? If this is our hobby we need to be putting in as much time and effort as Meca (if not more) in supporting our hobby...Aubrey cant secure every venue/sponsor etc. There are relationships that the individual teams and competitors have with local shops and venues. We need to do a better job coordinating this. We are essentially the needed middle men between shops/sponsors and Meca in some cases....As far as my complaints, I think there needs to be some discernment on the judges part when it comes to noob competitors. It discourages potential competitors when they get placed in m5 just because they didnt know that they had to fuse at there amp. They end up doing a 130 because they have sub par equipment, no clue what cabin peak is and no idea what a tone is..then some guy in mod5 beats them by 20db. That doesnt go a long way to encourage future attendence. I know Meca tries to ensure a level playing field, but you guys know that every once in a while there is a guy with a crap system that has no clue whats going on. That guy doesnt need to be in mod5 or s5...

As far as yesterday, that hickup with the TL was pretty damn annoying, but its technology, and its not something that judges have control over. Thats just an irritant that I guess we will have to accept from time to time

AWESOME response! Thanks for the input! Well, we as judges try our best to encourage new competitors and try to give them the "basic" rules up front. Now, we cannot "bend" the rules because someone is new. Yesterday, a new guy wanted to compete late in the day. His friends I would guess commented on him not having fusing and offered to help him install a fuse to get him in then lanes. That is what MECA is ALL about........getting the new guys involved and HELPING with the rules! We cannot grow the sport if we are not ALL involved in this, he'll be back with fusing and up to date on the rules IMO... :-) As far as the Term-Lab.......we always bring two and two laptops for issues like this..........blame it on the software or Term-Lab....we did our part and tried to eliviate the issue asap... =@ We arent software engineers...I sure wish I were in cases like that though.

anything else?

I agree...makes me think about coming to future shows with a few spare fuse holders and fuses to lend the new guys at least while they are on the meter so they can be in an appropriate class

get new SPL judges so I can hang out with my team mates. they are too busy and I dont have anyone to hang out with... dick.

im only worried about the SQ side. I liked that the same judge did my car each time. then I have a fairly accurate way to see if im doing better or not. now there will be a new one so itll throw me off, im guessing. but its not like you can do anything about that. I just hope you find someone permanent. if you didn't already lol.

all the judges are all nice. you always ask what you can do better, and you do your best. cant ask for much more. the more new guys you get into it, the more it'll grow.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

I had a blast yesterday at the show. I was a Noob to the meca side of the sport. It sucked not knowing what my peak fq was and I believe that is one reason why my score sucked the way it did. It also sucked that I pulled in played the music and nothing happened. Guess i was the guinea pig for that yesterday. lol. I really like the format and would like to compete at more MECA events. Not sure how many shows are going to happen down here in So Cal though this year.

Granted I know I am new to the sport, but it would really be nice to see a trunk class for the ones of us that have trunk setups. I know that this is something that has been discussed in the MECA forum, but it definitely would be nice.

formerly known as Blue86f150

its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies.

Not 100% sure if your joking or not with part of your comments. I will answer assuming what I read into it. I try my best to change judges up as much as I can on the SQW side so you can get several bits of feedback. unforunatley SQ.....IS as in IS ssubjective, even though the rules and tracks used are set in stone. The KEY to being really good in SQ is #1 being ver good, #2 is knowing the judge and what they as a individual is looking for. You CANNOT judge SQ by a meter or machine so knowing your judge IS important. I can explain thet in a pm if you like...(generlized of course)

Thanks for the feedback! I really think we have made the classes fair as we can. Adding a "trunk" class opens a whole new can of worms..........always open to suggestions though of course.
